| ![]() She is too small to breed at any age if that is going to be her full size. Never ever think of breeding a first heat. She is still maturing herself. Most of the time a teenage bitch doesn't raise the puppies, you will have to. Be prepared to be up every 90 minutes around the clock for 3 weeks pottying and feeding puppies if they survive. If you work or go to school, forget it for about 2 months, you won't be going anywhere. She is a baby herself. Go through the many posts on this forum and read about all the people whose bitches have died while having puppies or shortly after. IS that really what you want for yours? A way out of this is to divorce your husband, he doesn't sound like a keeper anyway, and he can take the cost of the Yorkies out of his half of the settlement. |

| ![]() Sounds like your hubby is a real jerk. If I was you I would tell him that she cant breed her first heat because she is too young and small and If you do breed her that it might damage her and she would not be able to have the puppies ( properly ), and they might not survive. Besides tell him that the VET bill that it would cost to see her thru a first heat, would not be worth it to him! you could end up with a problem with the female and NO BABIES to show for it! I think he is a money hungry $#^$!^#$&#^!$&!. So if you explain that the money end of it, will cost him more ! get it |

| ![]() What a problem you have got (your husband). I would get an extra job and pay him every cent to shut him up.......better yet, I'd be divorced ![]() If you really love your furkids.......don't do it. If push comes to shove (and your husband is still in your life).........I'd rather rehome them ![]() My best advice to you is.......(again if you plan to keep your husband around).......spay and neuter them, get a second job (worth the sacrifice) and pay him his darned money ![]() He sounds dangerous and might want to breed them without your consent and then label it a 'oops, it just happened'. ![]()

| ![]() Oh Dear she is way to small to breed to a 7 pound male. And at their first heat, they muight be physically mature enough but it would be, as someone else pointed out, like a pregnant 12 year old. Please don't do it. She will probably still grow some and then maybe you can consider breeding her, to a smaller male. |

| ![]() I don't feel it is fair to attack her husband. She asked a question because she didn't know, so I'm guessing her husband din't know either. I'm sure he meant no harm, he just did not understand the risk. |

| ![]() There are a lot of breeders that breed for money, even if they don't admit it and there are some that breed on the first heat. There are also people that breed dogs under 5 pounds and even to bigger dogs. But to do all of these at one time is headed for a disaster. Even if things are done right things can happen that can be very costly. Two years ago I bread a bitch for one of my clients she was 6 pounds and she was two years old. Well she needed a c-section that cost 1,600 dollars and then one of the puppies after its first shot had a reaction to the shot and it cost her almost 2,000 to save this puppy. You add the cost of the stud service in and the vet care durning the pregnancy and I am not sure how your husband can think this is a money making deal. But the worst thing that can happen and you can read many many times even with experienced breeders the loss of their bitch. As of this time you do not have the education you need to breed dogs or you would not be asking this question, so I suggest waiting till at least the next heat, stay here and read all you can and learn as much as you can, get to know the people here as they will love to help you when and if you are ever ready to breed your dog, evaluate your bitch and make sure she is big enough to breed and that she is healthy enough to breed , with a vet's help and then look for a stud that is not to big for her. If something bad happens your husband will not get his money back, and it may even end up costing him and you a lot more. And I can't even believe that he expects you to pay him back. This is your husband not a banker. I wish you all the luck you need with this , but I see it headed for a disaster as both dogs are in the same house and a very bad accident is just waiting to happen......... |

| ![]() It would be better to sell the dogs if you have to pay your husband back than to breed them. The female should not be bred at all at 4 lbs and definitely not on her first heat and by no means, should the male be larger. Do you know the sizes of the grandparents? Is your husband willing to do the genetic testing to be sure they do not have congenital defects? There are just so many issues here. |

You know what I usually don't say a thing to any post like this but I have to on this one!! It made me SICK to read that U're husband wants U to breed U're baby on her 1st heat so U can PAY him back...What kind of husband do U have? Why would anyone endanger their Yorkies for MONEY???????? And more so your husband saying that. What was U're response to him when he stated that? Let me tell U U're Yorkies will be there for U when U're husband won't. If my husband ever ever says anything like that he'd be gone!! My yorkies are my life and they should be yours too. Maybe U're husband should read some of these post from us and maybe he'd learn something. He needs help!! Sorry to be so blunt but let me tell U YORKIES are LOVE and they NEED and DESERVE love in RETURN!!!!!!!! It makes me sick for people to treat or say things like this about precious babies like this!!! Please let U're husband know this isn't right!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs, Lee and Babies | |
