| I have some questions may be you can answer [F]Hi, i dont know where to start and my question might sound a bit ignorant or stupid but i have to ask. I purchased my 1st yorkie back in 2004 from a breeder in OK, at that time i wasnt interested in breeding her so i chose to not purchase any breeding rights... a year later i purchased my second baby, Gizmo from a different breeder and this time i decided to go ahead and purchase breeding rights just in case, so HE is registered, the thing is Roxy just had her first litter and i feel bad that i never got papers for her and now the pups are not going to be AKC registered because of that. I moved a year ago so i dont have any contact info for the breeder who sold me Roxy so i want to know if there is any other way i can still pay for her papers through the AKC or get her papers. Can the pups have some sort of limited registry or something in that effect since the dad is AKC registered? or am i just out of luck? I already have buyers for the pups but i just wished i could give them some sort of papers , i know it makes most people more at ease in knowing that the pups are full breed and have papers... Any advice? PS: im sorry about my ignorance but im new to all this and never intended to purchase them to breed and make money but i love them so so much and its hard to not want to have the babies around and spread their love to other families. | God i wished i remember that info, though i think i do have the breeders name somewhere. I just feel bad that the pups wont have any papers of any sort and all because i chose to not get them for Roxy back then. I wonder if there is anything i can do now...

| papers Try to find the breeders name..then contact AKC for their address. You need the breeders help in registering your female..they must give you a litter application signed by them to send to AKC...good luck |

| Yes, you must have breeder's permission and signature to change her papers. But what you can do is to get their Pedigree. You can do this through AKC, if they are both (sire and dam) AKC (doesn't matter if limited papers or not). You just need to give AKC thier full names and AKC numbers of sire and dam. This will give your sellers the puppy's pedigree (family tree) and show that they are AKC family background. You just need to let them know that the pups do not have registered papers. You can also oder them online too. |

| papers It sounds like you are missing all info and do not have any papers at all for your female..correct? If you do have the litter "application for registration " from the breeder, then you can get their name and address from the papers..I may have misunderstood..it sounded to me like you are missing everything and have lost contact with the breeder..good luck |

| Not necessarily. When you purchased the pup, you were not interested in breeding her. Then you got a male and they had puppies. AKC normally won't give you any information on the names or addresses of the breeders. The only time I have ever been able to get ANY information out of the AKC is when I am the OWNER of the dog. If your girl is not registered, or wasn't "litter registered" then they wouldn't know you from Adam. They won't give out info just "because". Probably the best thing for you to do is look through ALL of the paperwork you ever got on her. Maybe something will jog your memory. Or, when all else fails, you an register her CKC or APRI. AKC is a closed registry and they will not register puppies that both mother and father weren't registered AKC. Good luck jogging your memory. BTW did you get a shot record on her? Maybe the vets name is on it and you might be able to get some info from him/her? Or a bill of sale, any kind of contract? Cancelled check from you to the breeder? Good luck, Suz

| No Luck Well , i was able to find the phone number and name of the breeder who sold Roxy to me but i called and the number is disconneted, then i searched with her name on the white pages and found one person with same last name on the same street as hers and i called and they apparently know her but have no contact with her.....??? so i left a message anyways in case they talk to her. They didnt sound to friendly so i guess Im just going to work on getting Roxy CKC registered and then the pups. Thanks for all your help

| Akc Sometimes I wonder about AKC...they have different rules for different people it seems. I have never had a problem getting information. I had one very nice person look at a problem I had and tell me she could clear it up in 3 minutes by just deleting everything as if it did not exist and we could start over, and we did...but the person I talked with earlier that week was so difficult about the rules, it would have taken weeks for paper work to get straightened out... CKC will register non-purebred dogs..their rules is..We have no rules.. |

| ckc What is the ckc and what good would it do to have puppies registered that were not purebred? I heard that APRI is now going to have a registry for dogs that are not purebred as well. My puppy is not AKC but APRI. The breeder told me that she didn't like AKC because they had sold out to the Arabs. I can't say I believed her but she was so obviously purebred with several beautiful breeding dogs on site & puppies from several different litters and had AKC papers on the parents. I checked the AKC site to see if maybe she had been denied privileges but she wasn't on it. I do not plan on breeding her and never did. She will be spayed as soon as she is old enough and she only weighs 2# at almost 4 months so probably wouldn't be breeding size anyway. She also won't use Eukanuba because they do something she doesn't like in their testing. Her facilities were very nice and I showed up unannounced. The only other dogs she even had on site were 2 very senior citizens. Any ideas why she would not use AKC? Do they cost the breeders more? The pup did have coccidia but everything else has been good and she is just adorable. Thanks for reading my long post. |
