OMG, I didn't know that happened Irene! I've not been on the forum much lately. Trying to catch up some here. I am so sorry to hear that. It is tough when you lose them. I really didn't know and I feel so bad for you. | |

| Thanks Melanie and Robbie. It was devistating. But it happens. My vet can run a progestrone through out pregnancy now to determine the pups are attached to the wall of the uterus. If not, they can give mom something. I was a mess when they were telling em about it so I dont' rememember specifics, but there is a way to prevent this. I will be doing that next time I breed Mandy. |

| I have been very blessed so far in breeding. When I bred mini pins and now with the yorkies I have not lost a mother yet. I have lost one entire litter in the past which was devastating.. I know there are risks involved everytime we breed to the mother and then to our pups. This whole process is never easy and it is hard to lose any animal. I can remember being involved with breeding way back when my mother bred poodles and assisting in these births as well and she lost a female either. Irene, I am so sorry for your loss. Sometimes nature has it's way of taking care of things, but for all of us we have our emotional ties to these little ones and it is heartbreaking when they go to the rainbow bridge.

| breeding With the advances in anthesthia, it is less a danger then in past years when undergoing a c-section..and fortunately, many can be saved when in the past they could not. |

Loosing them can be very trying and emotionally draining. And loosing a mom is horrific, as the memories never go away!
