Brushy Creek Puppymill The reason why the AKC doesn't do anything about it is because they now register the dogs ACA or APRI or some other registration that doesn't come out and investigate. |
It all boils down to the money. All the regirstration AKC, CKC, APRI. ect. make money when the new puppy owner register. All my furbabies had papers to send in, but I am not going to breed and it wasn't important that they are. I just wanted healthy babies to love. |
They are now advertising in Austin Hi I have been looking for a yorkie for 4 years now, but I want the perfect one, and I am really picky, but I think I found the perfect breader today, and I am going to wait until she has another litter, for a little girl. But anyways I saw that Brushy Creek is now advertising in the Austin American Statesman, the Austin newspaper. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! Here is a copy of the add from today. They are NEVER in full coat - from people I've talked to these last 4 years - no one has ever seen her females looking like they do on her site. So when you are there and ask to look at the parents - you never see what they really look like. makes me wonder if those are even her yorkies. |
Sick puppy #2  Well folks, I spoke with my attorney about the brushy creek puppymill and I decided to go ahead and get a replacement puppy needless to say this puppy I picked up ( I was still refused to see the parents of the pup) is now very sick!!! ( I was already expecting this before I went out to get the puppy) NO SURPRISE FOR ME!!! I picked her up thursday and she became very ill sunday, luckly I have a good friend that is a vet and I was able to take this poor little girl to her, she was immediately hooked up to an IV and the diagnosis is COCCIDIA [B]AND [B]KENNEL COUGH she is taking 2 kinds of antibiotics for 10 days and she is being taken very good care of by me I RESCUED HER FROM THOSE AWFUL PUPPYMILL PEOPLE imagine what would of happened if I didn't get her she would probably be dead by now! Since they don't know what the meaning of a vet is... At least I feel I did one good thing out of all the bad that goes on at that place. I will continue to report them and hate them as long as I live, I don't know how they still stay in business. WE NEED TO ACT TO SHUT BRUSHY CREEK KENNEL-PUPPYMILL DOWN!!!!!! |
Good for you Woof - how is she doing now ? I'm still waiting on an update about BC Kennels and hopefully they'll get what's coming to them very soon. I'll let you know when I know something ok ? |
Sick Puppy #2 From Bc Puppymill Well, I took her to the vet again yesterday and they told me that the Coccidia is not in her stool check, so that means the antibiotics are killing th coccidia and shes getting over it. BUT, the vet said she has either Kennel cough (upper respirtory infection) or it might be Distemper, she said we would just have to wait and see if she gets better with the antibiotic for the kennel cough, she thinks its more the kennel cough but its hard to determine because puppymillers are very neglectful in providing vaccines for the puppies (even though BC told me that puppy was 4 months old it is NOT its only 8 weeks old the vet said) BC also told me that she has ALL her shots except for rabies WHAT A DAM LIE!!!!!!!!! what can you expect from them millers anyways. I got the puppy ONLY because David was out of the country and one of the women that work their said I could come pick out another after being refused my moneyback and puppy!!!! HAHAHAHAHAH THIS IS FOR YOU DAVID MOORE YOU DAM CROOK THOUGHT YOU WHERE GOING TO KEEP MY MONEY AND SELL A PUPPY THATS RIGHTFULLY MINE!!!! YOUR DAY IS COMING SOON ENOUGH.... I will keep everyone posted on this poor baby's road to recovery. As of right now she does nothing but sleep and cough/gag when she's awake, she does not play like a normal puppy she is a very sick little girl, if anyone wants to see pics of her let me know I will send them to you to see. |
Awwww...poor baby. I'll post her pictures for you if you want and good for you getting one by on David ...he's a complete TOAD. |
Sick puppy UPDATE She finally has started eating on her own and drinking on her own instead of with a syringe, she is more alert now and moving around some. This poor baby has finally started to feel alot better, the antibiotics are helping her a great deal. She no long has runny stools (thank GOD). :) I will keep everyone posted on her condition tomorrow hopefully it just gets better and better. She went from sleeping all day, cough/gagging and snot coming out of her nose feeling just plain miserable to a happy baby (when she sees me she jumps up on me wagging her little tail 100 miles an hour) It is all worth it ;) |
Hey WoodShepard- I am glad your baby is doing better, not that it will make you feel any better, but our westie that we bought from there was very sick as well. I noticed it had gotten worse a few days after we had him. We had two out of three vets tell us they were convinced that Jack (our westie) had distemper. Of Course Dave swore this couldn't be. He was very lathargic, pasty white goopy runny nose, a dry cough and would not eat on his own. Well needless to say, three antibotics later, a shot and several vet visits he did get better. We got him Easter Weekend and he is now 8 months old and you would have never known he started out a sick little guy. I am keeping my fingers crossed that your baby does not have distemper and most likely have whatever it was that Jack had. |
sick puppy #2 update.... Well she seems to be doing alot better, she even barks at me when she sees me or the cat.. the only thing is she still has that cough and I notice when she sleeps she breathes hard, I haven't noticed anymore runny nose, but I noticed saturday that she had these red rings around her eyelids and some by her nose, kind of bumpy sort of. I have no clue what this might be but we have an appointment with the vet Wednesday so I'll ask then, anyone know anything about this? and what is the cause? I am very curious as to what this might be.. any info would help till I can get her to the vet wed. will keep everyone posted and will let you know what the vet says on her progress. I pray that she is getting better and will be ok. |
update I am takeing this baby to the vet this morning for another check up she has been on 2 antibiotics for 10 days now. I think she is doing better, but the vet will know for sure. I am keeping my fingers crossed that all is well and that it is not distemper, hopefully it was just the kennel cough (even though that is something bad) I think distemper would be a condition worse than having kennel cough (in my opinion), will let everyone know how she checks out, she still has a choking cough but only when she gets real excited. |
I took the puppy to the vet today and they did 2 xrays of her chest, because she was breathing really hard, the vet found fluid in her lungs due to the kennel cough, and gave another type of antibiotic this makes 3 antibiotics this poor puppy has been on since I had her for a week and a half. I am very frustrated at this point I have to observe her constantly to make sure the new antibiotic is not making the condition worse, the vet said if she doesn't improve within the next 3 days then they have to take drastic measures and give her a stronger antibiotic and a shot. I spoke to the attorney handleing the Brushy Creek case and they told me that I might be a witness in the case, I told them I have a puppy from them right now that is really sick and he told me that they heard theres a strain of kennel cough from europe that they can't cure here in the states. This better not be the case with this puppy! He told me that the trial starts September 25 and it will last a few days. I HOPE THEY NAIL DAVID FOR ALL HE HAS!!!!!! I want to see all those poor animals taken away from that nasty place. "NASTY CREEK KENNEL" I am doing the best I can for this poor little angel. I will let yall know how she does in a few days. |
Stupid Brushy Creek Does anyone know the outcome of the trial that was suppossed to of happen last week? |
I would like to know as well.:) |
I don't know I REALLY want to know what happened, hopefully it is what we all want to hear! |
Sick Pup update :) My little baby is doing well now although she still has the cough when she gets excited... the vet said she will still have the cough for awhile but will eventually go away on its own. She is truely a special girl. :animal36 She fought through all the sickness from Brushy Creek kennel. |
What happened to Brushy Creek? If anyone has any info on the outcome of this lawsuit PLEASE LET US KNOW!!!! |
If you know where the suit was held, the court records may be open to the public. If it was in your town, you could go to the courthouse and they would probably either do it for you or allow you to search the court records for the dates of the trial. good luck.:) |
Brushy Creek... strikes again. Well everyone, its not over. I wish I would have found this forum before I purchased my little scruffy. About 3 weeks ago I purchased a Shih Tzu for my children for Christmas, brought the little puppy home and the kids instantly fell in love with him. After 3 or 4 days went by we noticed he was sick, originally the doctors diagnosed him with pneumonia but a couple days later after many, many test and xrays I was told that my little puppy had died... I had to return home and tell my kids the horrible news. He had died from a problem with his esophagus, something the vet told me he was born with. I called Brushy Creek and of course the person I had to talk to (David) was out of the country.... well after about a week of trying to get a response I drove out to the Kennel and simply walked in... David had apparently arrived back in the country that very day (haha) I was nice, I figured it would be best to be nice about it, and he did in fact tell me that the agreement was for a new dog and they would not refund money, I said fine. I was told he was getting some more dogs in from .. a relative ... I think he told me, or someone in the Dallas area.... something like that and I could return the following Monday to pick a dog. (this was on a friday) He was gracious enough to offer me a girl instead of a boy (my wife wanted a girl) and he said normally it would have cost another $100 but he would give it to me for the same price because of the problems. ( I have also noticed she has gone up to $550 on their site, got mine for $350) I returned to pick my new puppy up late Monday night. He had two girls for me to pick from... something didnt seem right... but I was excited about getting a new puppy for my kids. I returned home with the puppy, my kids again fell in love with this new Shih Tzu (so the papers called it) ... well... you guest it, about 2 days later the puppy (Izzy) started having blood in its stool and I noticed it really wasnt eating anything... This was saturday night, the 23rd of Dec, so I had to rush it to a local emergency vet in the area, after waiting for 3 hours to get my dog checked the doc comes in and tells me, "you know this isnt a Shih Tzu" I was floored and couldnt remember much after that... except for the fact that the dog looks like a Yorkie Shih Tzu mix.... so they game me a mixed breed dog and she is sick as well. The doc didnt hold out much hope for the dog, said it probably didnt get to eat much food and could possible have a brain problem. Let me quote the doc "Izzy is demonstrating abnormal eating behavior. This can be due to brain problems, genetic problems, age, etc.. Izzy may have a foreign body causing the gi symtoms. There is also the possibility of parasites, viral, bacrerial, etc. Additional diagnostics may be necessary. Izzy has no passed the purchase examine due to her illness and abnormal behavior. Izzy does not have the correct conformation for a Shih Tzu. Please notify the breeder that Izzy has not passed her ezamine. That visit was about $200 and we still dont really know what is wrong, will hope she makes it to see our regular vet on Tuesday. I havent bothered calling the breeders, because they will just tell me that they will exchange the dog... well my kids are attached to it now... Im not about to trade it in for another sick dog. The point is, DONT PURCHASE A DOG FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! and anyone of you out there that own web sites should setup a link that says Brushy Creek Kennel and point it to this forum. This will move the forum up above any of Brushy Creeks listings on Google. I was going to put together a web site (thats what I do for a living) and tell my story but I found this. I am willing to get involved in any way to help shut this company down. Sorry so long... it helped to get this off of my chest. As you can imagine, there has been a lot of tears in my house over these puppies. |
Omg. I remember a call to them in between emails - and they told ME that he was out of the country - that seems to be the first LIE they start with. He must have so many people after him they can't even say 'out of town' - out of the COUNTRY sounds better :thumbdown I can't say enough bad things about them - and I'm SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR PUPPY !! Please pm me for more info about them - you do have recourse but it won't take away that kind of loss :( those people need to be shut down. How they sleep at night is amazing. |
It's unbelievable how they are still in business. |
ANYONE WHO DEALT WITH BRUSHY CREEK KENNELS PLEASE GO HERE !!!! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65087 Your input is needed for an Investigative News Report that will be airing on FOX News....If you bought a dog or had dealings with this kennel - please to to the link I just posted - thank you. |
breeders There is a BIG difference between breeders and Puppy mills. When I see one like that I call all the local TV stations. Ususally one of them will go out and get pictures and film for the evening news and when that happens someone usually takes action. it's worth a try anyway!!!!! |

Facts and not just opinions others should know about Brushy Creek Kennel :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa I am a former employee of Brushy Creek Kennel(BCK). I have always been aware of this website and I am here, today, to tell you some of the facts. I am also prepared for some negative responses that I will probably get by this posting. I have not been asked by anybody to post on this site, but have been reading it for quite some time and decided that I should state some facts. I do understand those who are concerned and who may have questions. I also respect the opinions of others, but hope you can all respect my post, as well. I am not here to go on and on, bash anyone, or start a debate, because I know in my heart what is true. With most anything, not just with BCK, the negative always seems to be the topic of discussion over the good or positive things. I am not sure why this is true, but I have noticed it with many things over the years. It is good to keep an open mind and there are two sides to every story. In my opinion, it seems that this website is against anyone who sells or deals with more than a couple of breeds. And that is fine, but it is based on opinion and not fact. We all have our own opinions. I do know, from personal experience with BCK, that some of the information that has been posted is completely inaccurate. So, I feel a personal need to state a few FACTS about this kennel. Brushy Creek Kennel is definitely a kennel that sells multiple breeds. It is not a dirty or unkept kennel. Nor are the dogs neglected or in cramped living conditions. The kennel is cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. There is air-conditioning for hot days and heat for the cold days. The dogs are fed well and always have clean, fresh water to drink. There are good sized runs for the dogs and separate areas for the smaller puppies to run around and play. These dogs have daily contact with those who work there, along with the contact of Mr. Moore, himself, and his family. His children absolutely adore the puppies as much as the puppies enjoy them. Mr. Moore does not rely, soley, on the people who work for him to take care of the dogs. He is not scared to get his hands dirty and is not ?above? cleaning the kennel himself. He is in the kennel on a daily basis to oversee and assist with the care of his dogs. I cannot give you an exact figure of the number of dogs, because it changes regularly. Being a kennel, they do have many dogs and, yes, they are ALL cared for. They do breed some of their own dogs, but the majority of their dogs are imported from other countries. They do quarantine dogs to be exported, as well. Some of my duties while working there, along with other employees, were to clean, disinfect, scrub, and maintain the living environment of these dogs. This is not what I would consider the fun part of the job, but it had to be done. I would never let a dog live in an un-kept, dirty kennel. Cleaning the kennel was done twice a day, morning and late afternoon. I was also responsible for making sure the dogs were vaccinated and wormed according to schedule. The cost of wormers and vaccinations to keep these animals healthy was considerable. We did everything humanly possible to take the utmost care of the dogs. Part of the reason I started working there was because I am, and always have been, a true dog lover. I loved working & caring for all these dogs. If it wasn?t for my needing medical benefits, I would still be happily employed with BCK. I would NEVER work or be involved with any business or individual that I felt did not care for their animals. These dogs are "cared for" by people who love animals. I have been there when SPCA came to evaluate the kennel. They highly approved BCK and said that it is a good example of a properly kept kennel. I realize that many people do not agree with "kennels" because they think of them as being a place where dogs are not taken care of. I know this is not true of BCK. I cannot explain why there are people who have received sick dogs. But, I do know that BCK does everything they can to keep their dogs healthy. Their intentions are to satisfy the customers and not the opposite. I, personally, believe that this is an unfortunate and sad part of the business of selling live animals. It is also very upsetting to those of us who work so hard to care of the dogs and maintain a healthy kennel. I have read many of the letters and Christmas cards from very happy BCK customers. There are have also been customers who returned to purchase a companion for the first dog they bought. As clearly stated in the purchase agreement, customers have plenty of time to get the puppies checked out by a vet. BCK will also allow extra time, if needed. It also states in the purchase agreement that a customer can return and exchange a puppy, if unsatisfied with the vet check. I know that Mr. Moore stands behind his purchase agreements, because I have witnessed this. I can also tell you that Mr. Moore is not a bad person, as some of the posts claim. If you meet him, you will find he is very friendly, quite knowledgeable, and helpful. I have seen him go out of way to help people in comprising situations. He does this out of the goodness of his heart and not out of obligation. I support several animal rights organizations, including the Humane Society. This is where I found and adopted one of my dogs & prized possession, Buddy. My other dog, Molly, came from BCK. I have had no problems with her. She is as happy and healthy as the day I took her home. In closure, I just want to say that I was not asked to write this and am not a fictitious person. I wrote this because I want people to know some facts and not just my opinion. I know from first hand experience that Brushy Creek Kennel is a beautiful place and well run facility. I do hope that Mr. Moore does the interview with Fox 26, because he has a kennel to be proud of. I only hope the story is not one sided, like this site appears to be. Thanks to Brushy Creek for giving me the opportunity to work at a place where I really enjoyed what I was doing, caring for your animals. It was much more than "just a job" to me. It was very rewarding and I loved it! I wish many of these people could have the chance walk in my shoes just to learn the truth and really know what good people you really are. Take care!:animal-pa |
