How does he stay in business? Gee, you'd think with all the publicity, David would have a hard time staying in the business, or would at least have to cut back. How does a guy like that sleep at night? Must have his pillow stuffed with money. The Inside Edition report said that the website they used to buy their puppy from, and several others connected to it, were no longer operating. Do you know the Lisa Bushman Mallery that won the lawsuit against him? I was just wondering if she's from the Houston area, too. Inside Edition said something about a $350,000 award against David but the Fox report from 2/5 said Lisa was awarded $125,000. Guess that's the media for you. :aimeeyork |
I know im not a yorkie owner-but please dont attack me.. Hello. We purchased a westie back in 2004. Our first dog. We could not find a westie breeder in michigan (that we could afford)-that means less then $1500. We tried to go through rescue (like myself) but since we do not have a fenced in yard (sub rules say we can't w/o a pool) we could not adopt a westie w/o a fence! So we had to turn to a breeder. I was 17 years old at the time, and looked for about a year previous for a westie. I came accross BCK-it seemed good. We contacted them through phone, and asked tons of questions (how many times to you breed a female, are your dogs outside/inside/caged, are they tested for genetic soundness..etc..) I had actually bought a book from a web site on everything to ask a breeder. Well, ehen everything came down, and $850 later, we purchased a little 10 week old westie pup. Took him home..nothing wrong..and we have been lucky!! I feel terrible for people who have bought dogs from BCK-and things have gone wrong. I had actually just found all of this out about BCK this evening and can't beleive my eyes! I would never go to a pet store b/c of puppy mills..but i feel bad b/c we were a victum of what sound like backyard breeders. Please don''t attack me...im no breeder lover-i would honestly love to adopt a homeless dog, and thats where my next dog will come from. But, so far we have been lucky with our westie, came home fine, no sickness, no allergies...only a little IBS everynow and then, but thats when we go out for a walk and he gts very excited!:animal36 |
I'm so glad everything worked out well for you and your puppy was healthy. Nobody is going to attack you for not having a yorkie, thats ok:p and actually there are many breeders on this website. |
I am sooo glad your puppy turned out to be fine and healthy. I was one of the unlucky ones that received 2 very sickly puppies. You are very lucky to have gotten one out of that nasty place ok. Best wishes and good luck with him or her. :) |
We are from MN and wound up with an "Irish" Westie. We were told he came from Ireland, etc., etc. Shame on us for trusting these folks (MN nice, you know?). We've always suspected that something wasn't quite right with our beloved friend (sick from the start). Yep, turns out he's one of Dave Moore's pups. Poor thing! We are not certain if we can keep him. He is so anxious (always has been), not sure if he's going to continue tolerating life with a toddler. Anyone have info about Dave Moore in Minnesota? e-mail me at lynn55129@yahoo.com Thanks! |

WHAT!!! Moore is now in MN...hummm, I guess he didn't make it here in TX so he had to try and walk on new grounds. Crooked BASTARD. |

I live in MN. A miller moved here to MN? Please fill me in on the name and where ! |
We purchased the MN westie (with "Irish" roots) back in 2003. The seller is from Prior Lake, but Dave Moore is listed on the state transit paper. We still are trying to determine if the seller was aware of Dave Moore's practices. We are suspecting the worst. :( Hoping to get our money back; we've had lots of vet bills with this guy. I am sure they've sold lots of "Irish" dogs in MN. Ironically, we attempted to adopt our westie to another couple... they had purchased a "Irish" terrier from the same folks. Turned out the dog had LOTS of behavior issues its whole life. Understandably, they declined adopting our little fella. We are heartbroken. |
Brushy Creek Kennels--curious?? We too had purchased a westie from this awful place and subsequently have a few horror experiences of our own; however I am just curious if anyone knows what happened to them. I noticed all his websites are down, did this lowlife breeder (as he calls himself) finally call it quits???? |

Then Inside Edition picked it up and did their own undercover investigation -bought a puppy online - and low and behold - the puppy that arrived at Inside Edition WAS sick poor thing and not the dog they bought. So - Hopefully they are out of Business. It's either that or he opened up under a new name Here are all the links if you want to see them - they still work http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-fox-news.html |
Thank you for the reply!!! I hope that slime ball has stopped. |
MN Westie Sorry to hear about another abused dog. Our dog is showing more and more signs of anxiety; he's licking/biting his side to the point of bleeding at times and is now urinating in the house. It is so sad! I am hoping we can work through it. FYI - We purchased him 5 years ago this May in MN. |
Brushy Creek I was just curious if anyone knows whatever became of David Moore and his kennel. Thankfully our dog has fully recovered and now is a healthy, with an attitude and is a big spoiled brat-and he knows it. I live in the Houston area and periodically check to see if this creep has crept back up somewhere else. |
UUHH! V, you got a new baby...?I am so sorry for posting this in the middle of the thread..but was so excited for you as I read this for the first time...what I get for not stopping in on YT for so long... Congratulations and I am saddened too at the same time on the findings of these jerks that are allowed to own, breed and create a business using these poor babies!!!! Along with many others. Why can't the AKC write some stricter guidelines and the usda..ugh, ...Thats why we have to continue to expose these creeps..Thank-you for your hard work and not closing your eyes on what you saw...Wow |

I see the yorkiecity website has changed to yorkiecity1.com. I am sure if they google their name, they will see all of the yorkietalk postings What I thought was funny was that in the description of the puppy she has, belongs to my friend....... A clear sign of a broker. Yorkies are the #2 breed in the US and with that you will find a lot of opportunists that see a way to make a quick buck. As a buyer, everyone should be aware of that and check these people out carefully. I live in TX and I could not believe that people keep their dogs in the un-air conditioned garage. We are too hot and humid for that. Since the hurricane this summer, we have a lot of fences down and I can see the disgusting conditions some people keep their dogs in. There are two around the corner from me that are chained in the backyard 24/7. No trees for shade etc. I would like to chain the owners up in the backyard and let them feel what their dogs feel!!:( |

Can you tell me where you finally found a good breeder in the Houston area....Im at a loss, I think I find one, then go online and read horror stories....help please. |
Thanks for the info Thanks for the info. I'm north of Dallas and am talking to vets, trying to find a good breeder. Any one on YT have any recommendations on breeders in the Dallas or DFW area? |
I bought a yorkie from Betty 11 years ago, used stud service and just bought a beautiful male puppy. She doesn't keep her dogs outside, they have access to go out (doggie door) from aircontioned Kennels, to a nice large yard, there not all shaved down either. Betty's not a wealthy woman, I think your judging her because she lives in a trailer. She even keeps her retired dogs, so she knows they are well taken care of. Her place isn't nasty, she is a country girl. She doesn't sell sick dogs, she won't let just anyone buy a tiny Yorkie, because she's afraid for it's little life. And by the way, she live there, do you want people walking through you house. |

I don't know the breeder..... All I can say to your last line is WHY would there be a parade going through anyway??? It is not that easy to find good homes for yorkies in the state of Texas...trust me I know that much. And...furthermore, no yorkie would go to a home where I did not trust the people. People adopting pups from me come to my home. Period. |
Think about it, I just got a puppy from her, I had been at her house 3 times 4 months ago. I talked to her every few days on her request because my puppy was a teacup size. I'm saying I've know her for 11 years, I refer people to her, one thing I know is she loves her dogs. |

Teacup? What is that? Did she advise you that there really is no such thing as a teacup yorkie? |
Plus, my message clearly states that I bought one 11 years ago, used her stud service and just bought a puppy, yes also states teacup (size) Not to hard to figure out! In the dog world this term means it's a very small dog, can fit in a teacup. |
