So we will have to agree to disagree on that issue It can be a hot topic, and I can only go my experience and research that I have done on this subject. And I respect each person has their own views on it. When I breed my yorkies however, I will be doing tails and dewclaws because that is what people want and expect. I will actually give the choice to the client if they want it done or not. People are starting to see more and more the reasons for docking and dew claw amputation do not hold water. And people are more and more wanting dogs natural. And I believe more people will start wanting their yorkies natural as well.

Some people had less fortunate experiences with docking and can vouch that their pups did seem to experience pain and discomfort. Seems like though, it's a safe be to say that if the procedure is performed correctly, that the pups experience minimal discomfort. And BTW, welcome to YT!

Our neighbor's little chihuahua runs the neighborhood, has been coming here now for 3 years.....she likes our warm garage on the cold mornings Last week she showed up with her dew claw torn and dangling from her paw. It was so painful she wouldn't let us near it. This was on a Sunday, the owners had to take her to an ER vet to have it clipped. The owner told us this was the second time Daisy has torn a dew claw like that.

| The clamp is called a hemostat. So easy and blood free. Some of mine make a squeak when first clamped and some don't. My vet was quite impressed when I told him. Its amazing to me still that these vets are booksmart but have know idea living 24 hours a day with a litter of puppies what they could really learn. I learn something new every litter. |

| I take my pups to the vet to have tails and dew claws done as part of the well baby/momma check but stay in the room with mom and babies during the procedure. It's really fast and little blood. |
