So we will have to agree to disagree on that issue It can be a hot topic, and I can only go my experience and research that I have done on this subject. And I respect each person has their own views on it.
When I breed my yorkies however, I will be doing tails and dewclaws because that is what people want and expect. I will actually give the choice to the client if they want it done or not.
People are starting to see more and more the reasons for docking and dew claw amputation do not hold water. And people are more and more wanting dogs natural. And I believe more people will start wanting their yorkies natural as well. |
I know your post is a few months old but we recently had an experience with a neighbor's dog and when this thread was brought back up, I was reminded.
Our neighbor's little chihuahua runs the neighborhood, has been coming here now for 3 years.....she likes our warm garage on the cold mornings

Last week she showed up with her dew claw torn and dangling from her paw. It was so painful she wouldn't let us near it. This was on a Sunday, the owners had to take her to an ER vet to have it clipped.
The owner told us this was the second time Daisy has torn a dew claw like that.
