| new puppy got at front of Walmart purple After having a very bad week. Mother in Law's Yorkie girl who I was to get a puppy from get eclampsia and died along with all four pups. I went shopping at Walmart tonight for Christmas stuff. when out front was a small elderly man with a cardboard box handing out tiny under 1 pound puppies, with thier eyes barely opened. He said they were ready to go and need homes. as they had they're pipes break and had server water damage all oveer thier house and no heat due to this. So I took the last puppy. after I almost chewed him out. {SO WANTED TOO!} He told me they're Mom is a peke a poo with papers and Dad's a Yorkie, and they were going to sell them but cause of the house damge just wanted them gone. I need advice about this. the pup has fleas. and tear stains under her eyes. {I tried to buy the other pups {2 more} from the other people who took them but no go. I got puppy milk,a puppy bottle and soft food pedigree puppy and dry. but too soon for that. and have her in blankets. Poor thing is half frozen. Anything else I need to do???? besides a vet asap. Eggs and Noel{the puppy.} Tis Christmas after all. |

| for the fleas: he is too young to give a bath so you might want to get a flea comb and pick them off that way How many fleas does he have? if they are covered in fleas for a long time then they can become anemic Oh and you could try wiping the eyes with a warm damp towel... and the best thing for keeping warm is to put blankets in the dryer and then wrap them up in that! so good of you to step in .... and i love the name noel is perfect did you buy him or was he free? |

| Oh bless you and this baby girl!!! Call your vet or one who can specialize in the small breeds. She needs a supplement I am guessing and possibly some specialized care right now. Keeping her warm is wonderful, very important. Please keep us posted on Noel....Merry Christmas to you both and I pray this little girl grows strong and healthy.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Make sure that the pup stays warm. Cold can kill the pup. use a warm damp washcloth or cotton ball and wipe the eyes. It can get an infection (the goop sound REALLY bad) and the dog will be blind. Take it to a vet as soon as you can to get meds for the eyes and a good check over. Pup will probably also need to be wormed.

| Go to your local pet store and buy De Flea! I bought a bottle of it before for my SIL's chi/yorkie mix and it kills on contact. It can be used for newborn puppies and older. It's a very watery "shampoo" but turns into soap and lathers nice! Don't use too much! I can try to take a picture of it to show you. Its in a tan (and kind of striped) bottle. PM me about it if you want! And I'm so sorry to hear about Bebe. I hope everything goes well with Noel. |

| If you have any other dogs - keep them away from this one. I don't want to alarm you but...The eyes gooked up could be a bad disease - like distemper or something similar. Sorry, but just to be on the safe side. Have your vet check him out first. I was a vet tech years ago and usually when pups like this came in they were very sick. Here is some information: http://www.animalhealthchannel.com/distemper/ T. Last edited by topknot; 12-23-2005 at 06:22 PM. |

| Are the eyes okay or crusty with puss. If clear - less like ly to be distemper. But I would really have your vet check him out tomorrow, as I am sure you will. Best of luck with your new baby. T. |

I think she was just too darn cold. {smallest pup I think} Got her in some baby blankets, with a heating pad next to the heat duct. and I plain on sleeping next too it tonight. She seems okay. for now. Eggs and Noel {My reason for enjoying this season.} Thanks All. I'll keep everyone updateed |

| It clearly shows how much you care for this little one. It was meant to be that you were given this little girl to take care of. Tomorrow's vet visit will be much needed and important. Please remember, she will need to eat very often, like every hour or two. So, this might be a very long night for you but well worth it. She is a very much noted Christmas angel....Schatzie sends hugs her way.

| Bless your heart for stepping in It sounds like she's going to be a little fighter, being taken away from her mommy, shame on him! But at least now she's being take care of and I hope that she'll get some good meds from the dr. and be on her way. I wouldn't use any flea product on her, no matter how safe they say it is. I heard that vets use Pert Shampoo on very small puppies for fleas, just make sure that she stays warm while you shampoo and dry her thoroughly. Let us know how she is...
