| Hi everyone! I'm here!! My baby had her babies yesterday. I think she was over due as they seem a bit 'older' than they are. If that makes sense? I have scales, but they aren't working right so I'm going to Walmart today to try to find something that will work for weighing them. She has three puppies. Two females and one male. From the time she started pushing, it took her 2 hours and 10 minutes until she was done. She had a hard time with the first one, last two were easier. I was nervous, but I "think" I did everything right. I wondered if I could post pictures here so you guys could let me know what you think of them? I think they are precious! ![]() They have much darker markings than the other Biewer I have. The breeder keeps contacting me to see how she is doing. I think she 'suspects' something. She doesn't know for sure about the puppies. I have not let the stud owner know yet. I was going over pedigrees and my girl's lineage are mostly champions. I think there are 2-3 that aren't. Now, I'm watching them closely to be sure that they are all nursing. I have supplement with wee bottle for them as well. I appreciate everyone's advice so much! Any advice on things now, would be SUPER! Thanks! |

If you want to dock tails you need to go to the vet at day 3 and up to day 5. Also did you count the placentas and made sure you had 3 for 3? If unsure go to vet for shot to expel placentas. Going to the VET protect your pups. Bring carrier. Put your blanket on examining table. Having an assistant with you is a great boone. They can park car, help carry, what-ever. Try to get either first appointment of the day or last appointment. Do not let MOM or PUPS touch ground in the vets office. Watch Mom carefully too. Examine all teats for redness, swelling, odor, discharge, Mom's temperature. Make sure you feed Mom enough calcium. A scrambled egg daily has enough calcium for her. And my dogs love eggs ![]() Of course keep Mom and Pups in quiet secure place that is draft free. Wash Mom's feet when she / if she goes out to potty. Disinfect whelping room daily, and change bedding as needed, which might be 2-3 or more times per day. First week is critical, Second and third week important. You survive the first three weeks, you can begin to breathe easier, if pups are gaining and thriving, and Mom is doing well.

| Thank you for updating. Glad the breeder is showing concern for the dog and pups. I'm still personally disgusted she asked for more money rather than saying hey return her for me to care for her and the pups, then you can have her back. I'm guessing the breeder knows you have no whelmpibg experience, so making financials the concern is very telling about her character. Thankfully but also unfortunate you have great breedees here to offer advice in care for the best interest of the mom and pups. Do you hace other pets in your home. Dont forget about dew claw removal.

| Thanks for all of the good advice! I don't think Biewer tails are docked?? I do have a question and it may seem silly, but I was reading online all of the techniques that people use to make their dogs' ears stand. Is this something I should be doing now and if so, what is the best way to do it?? Thanks!!! |

. Would love to see pictures. You can post them here by scrolling down when you click the reply and going to manage attachments to upload them. I don't think they tape the ears this young but I may be wrong and yes biewers have full tails.

| Donating YT 10K Club Member | The tails aren't docked. Dew claws should be removed on day 3. Don't worry about taping ears at this age. At two weeks I do start shaving them to keep the weight of the hair off. Sometimes this is enough for them to pop up by themselves at 6 or so weeks. If hey don't come up, start taping and sometimes it takes more than a few times. If the pups are nursing well and gaining, there is no need to supplement and during the first few days you want them to fill up with mom's colostrum. This is how they receiver her immunity against diseases. Glad everything is going well.
