I, on the other hand, breed yorkies, and i own both of my yorkies (male and female). I am a small hobby breeder. My line comes from Durrer canadian and Edgewood lines. You can google them and yes both dogs are akc registered but with limited registration. My female weighs 4.5 lbs and my male (durrer) is 3 lbs. she is currently pregnant and i am expecting litters soon. I have loved this breed since i was a small child, so for me to breed the best line is a dream come true.

1. They are not Show and/or Breeder Quality. 2. You purchased at a pet price, and not the price with Breeding rights. 3. You were trusted not to breed, and your puppies are not allowed to be registered with AKC. You own the dogs, but you don't own breeding rights with limited registration. If this is true, this is very upsetting to me, and I'm sure upsetting to the Breeder you got yours from.

OP these are all questions you need to know answers to before purchasing. I know you love your current dog, but think back to all the things you went through the first few months you had him, do you want to go through all of that again? While health can never fully be guaranteed, your research will help make those odds be in your favor. (hey, we all get sick sometime, right?) the mother club for the Yorkshire terrier breed has a breeder referral page. These people are passionate about yorkies and as members of the YTCA have promised to look out and do what's best for this beloved breed. It doesn't mean you need to sit back and do 0 research. Get you list of questions and research them too. It might take some time before you will actually be bringing a new pup home, but in the end you'll have an easier time about it. You won't worry about fleas, giardia, and kennel cough. Plus, most ethical breeders stand by their dogs and will be more than happy to help if and when a problem should arise. Gemy's post is spot on.

She sold the pup I drove to see before I even got there. When I went inside to see the other pups I saw horrible living conditions. I do not know if I am being too harsh or expecting too much in a breeder, but what I saw made me uncomfortable. I would not recommend TinyYorkieKisses

| @Amazing Yorkies... Actually, you are wrong.... First off, Reputable Breeders will ask you what it is your TRUE Intention of purchasing a dog. If you want to purchase a yorkie to "BREED" or "SHOW" them, then obviously you and the breeder have to come to an agreement where the breeder would allow a "FULL Registration (Breeding Rights), but it will come with a HEFTY price! This is where it obviously gets very expensive. Most Breeders Don't allow "Breeding Rights" because they don't want you to BREED THEIR LINE (Right, I know how selfish right?), and for these reasons, they are selling their dog as "PET PRICE" and it is much cheaper than paying over $2500....But also, they don't want anyone and everyone just breeding mutts and mixing breeds and what have you. To reduce all backyard breeders out there who are out to make money and to also reduce Euthanasia among our beloved dogs out there, This is where LIMITED Registration comes in. Not because the dog is "NOT" show quality or for the other reasons you have written in response to MY comment. Plus, with Limited Registration, given that Reputable Breeders are selling their AKC PUREBRED Yorkies much cheaper than they actually paid for. My Yorkshire Terriers came from a Very Reputable Breeder (Cynthia Hill - Edgewood Yorkies) and My Male Yorkie came from Phyllis Bryant who owned Durrer Canadian Yorkshire Terriers. (Yes Betty Ann Durrer's Line - GO google their names.) Yes! I have BOT OF MY dogs AKC pedigree and BOTH OF MY Yorkies came with FULL AKC Registration, and paid a lot for them but I purposely bought them to breed beautiful lines. |

| @MrsH....Kari (Tiny Yorkie Kisses) is a BROKER and NOT a Reputable Breeder at all...I spoke to her over the phone, she is quite nice, believe it or not, but I don't like how she advertises her dogs as "AKC" when they are NOT. They are registered but with APRI and CKC (Continental Kennel Club). Well, we all know APRI and CKC will register anything and everything including a "ROCK"...lol So the only way to be sure your dog is truly purebred is through AKC as they can trace the dog's dna line... I've heard that Yorkies Kari sold in the past had Coprophagia (Dogs eating their own poop!). It's so disgusting...and these dogs aren't being fed properly by their owners because they are nothing but puppy mills. So be careful with her site. It's very misleading... |

| FYI, I am NOT A FULL TIME DOG BREEDER! I am a "Hobby" breeder. if you have the slightest clue what that means... I own TWO AKC CHAMPION Dogs. I don't give out FULL BREEDING RIGHTS, but they will HAVE AKC Registration Papers - just means the buyer have no right to breed my dogs. Sounds like you have NO idea what you are talking about. I don't breed my dogs for the sake of 'money'.. It's why I breed from time to time, and let years go by before I 'breed' again. I don't breed my dogs every heat. They are my dogs and I paid a lot on both of them. This is just a 'hobby' to me. You probably need to do a bit more research before you open your mouth on this forum. Yea I don't participate here all the time. Why do I have to give you reason? lol if you care so much, I am currently in graduate school at the moment and I am extremely busy writing thesis, research, essay, critical analysis paper, you probably don't even know what those are. Thanks... but it's really none of your business right? PS. There is NO need to insult people here afterall, you are no better than anyone. Sounds like a little self-esteem issue and insecurities there? |

| where did I say that I have a 3 lb dam?haha why would you want to breed a small dam such as a 3 lb? that is risky! you mean my male yorkie is 3 lbs right? You might want to re-read the post again. If you are curious... My male is from the AKC Durrer Canadian Lines and he is the one pictured as my "avatar". |

| I think what is confusing us you said your dogs were sold to you on a limitied registration. That means you did not pay for the right to breed them. Are we reading this wrong? Also I did edit my post above to say I had read it wrong.

| No. I purchased BOTH OF MY YORKIES from a REPUTABLE BREEDER. Go look up Edgewood Yorkies. My female came from there and My male came from Kansas - male is from AKC DURRER CANADIAN LINES! FEMALE is EDGEWOOD LINES! BOTH ARE AKC and with FULL AKC REGISTRATION. Me on the other hand, because I am selling my yorkies MUCH MUCH LESS, I decided to give "LIMITED" registration. meaning they are NOT Paying over $2500 like I did because I purchased mine with FULL Breeding Rights. I sold my litters way less than that but the catch is they WILL GET AKC PAPERS Just NOT FULL BREEDING Rights! Why? because I sold them much cheaper as "PETS" Only. Now if they want to breed my dogs, because I have spent so much on them, I would allow FULL RIGHTS but they have to pay same amount I paid. It's only fair! and that's what usually Reputable Breeders do! and of course you have to ask buyers FULL intention on the dogs. |
