They led me to the room the puppies were kept in. It was visible from the entry door. The room looked and smelled clean. There were about 5 or 6 large cages with a 2-3 puppies in each. They were hopelessly adorable and very healthy looking. They were not very active but this didn't seem alarming to me. I was looking for a very small puppy at the time but they didn't have one that quite suited me so they let me know that new litters were coming all the time. I'm not sure from where. I told them to let me know when they got a smaller one and they referred me to the website because they keep it updated frequently. The small ones go fast. =)
Puppies not being active? Isn't that what puppies do? They're little spitfires that are learning and exploring. Now, you say you saw 10-15 puppies, what about their parents? Did the brokers (I say this because it sounds like they don't breed these dogs themselves) discuss pedigree and health testing done on the parents before breeding?

OP these are all questions you need to know answers to before purchasing. I know you love your current dog, but think back to all the things you went through the first few months you had him, do you want to go through all of that again? While health can never fully be guaranteed, your research will help make those odds be in your favor. (hey, we all get sick sometime, right?) the mother club for the Yorkshire terrier breed has a breeder referral page. These people are passionate about yorkies and as members of the YTCA have promised to look out and do what's best for this beloved breed. It doesn't mean you need to sit back and do 0 research. Get you list of questions and research them too. It might take some time before you will actually be bringing a new pup home, but in the end you'll have an easier time about it. You won't worry about fleas, giardia, and kennel cough. Plus, most ethical breeders stand by their dogs and will be more than happy to help if and when a problem should arise. Gemy's post is spot on.
