I am not usually the one to criticize, but geez lady, you came here for advice! You recieved it and should have taken it VERY seriously. This poor girl is dependant upon you for her safety. IDK if you have children, (or even if you ARE a child at this point :rolleyes:) but would you, if this were your child want to wait to take them to the ER if it could be life threatening??? You DON'T know if it IS or ISN'T at this point! Sounds higly probable though! So why risk it?? Somebody help me here?! :confused: I'm sorry if I have offended anyone by sounding harsh. This has ruined my day unless I see good news posted! :(

Bonny I've reread this thread as painful as that reading is, and given syntax and word usage, it may be that this poster is young. If she is in a small town, no taxis.

So to KAS, please update us on the status of your Bailey. Our concerns are all for your dog,a nd the future health of these pups.

Most of us here, can understand if you are very young, you simply just were not ready for the challenges of whelping a dog. And all will highly encourage you/your parents to spay this female so that no one is put in danger again.

If you are young, IMO the parents are at full blame here. Not spaying a female, leaving the care of a pregnant bitch to a young adult. For shame!

I do so hope that Bailey is well.

Please update. I know some of the posts are kinda harsh but please know everyone is just worried sick about your little mama and pups. We know you are young or inexperienced and you did contact the vet and did as the vet instructed. We are all just concerned and sometimes our passion and worry can lead us to say things in a way that might not be taken well by you. II am continuing to pray for you, mama and babies

This thread is just shocking and awful. Nightmare! All we can do is wait and pray - if this is not somehow a cruel hoax and I fear it isn't. Poor, poor little creatures left to care like this.

I'm praying that everything is ok.

Obviously we don't know the whole picture, (and can only imagine) so really can't sit in judgment until we know more. About all we can do is continue to pray for a good outcome.

I can sure sit in judgment of the care as I think a dog in that condition should be at a good vet's office getting some as soon as there was a problem.

I'm still hoping and praying to hear something good about Bailey and her puppies.

Ok.. here is an update. I just got off of the phone with KAS, who is a very freightened 13 year old girl and her mother.

Before I give an update, I want to say that these people have recieved hate mail and threats. I understand how we all take this seriously and care about proper breeding practices with our beloved yorkies but I have seen on this forum how some use this venue to cut people apart who do not believe as they do. Those who feel that because they belong to a certain club or they have certain credentials or they have bred a certain number of years that they are the be all and end all and they use words to belittle and degrade. You have scared this child to death, worried her family and shown your colors. Those of you who offered help without judgements and truly listened to who was speaking to you, realized it was most likely a young child who needed help and assistance thank you, your colors shown brilliantly too.

OK.. Bailey is on her way to another vet. The first vet, the one they have been in contact with since yesterday, does not have an xray capabilities so they have an appt. at 2:30 central time in a larger town that has one. Their vet believes that this is a false pregnancy, he feels no puppy but they are doing an xray to confirm. He does believe Bailey has lymes disease as her symptoms seem to indicate this, however, treatment can not be started until they are sure there is no pregnancy.

They will call me after the second appt to update..

They appreciate the help they have been given but please, let's try and maintain some calm without being so critical before we really know the entire situation. I understand how emotions can get the better of us.. I've been there myself many times.. especially when we feel someone is not doing all they can for a helpless animal.. but to send hate mail and threaten is way beyond reasonable.

Thank you for the update and the explanation I have been on pins and needles all day. It is going to be very ironic if this is just a false pregnancy. It is a shame they have received hate mail and threats. I see no good reason for someone to get so worked up over a post on the internet thjat they would do. I hope Bailey doesnt have Lyme disease. I'm glad that Bailey is going to see another vet. If she has lymes, is there a treatment for it? Is it the same lymes that humans get?

At least this poor little dog will be getting some care now. That's good to hear.

Yes, there's a treatment for it thank goodness. Britster's Jackson had it last year and recovered just fine. :)

I hope you get them to report the hate mail and threats. Surely they weren't from YT members?

Thanks for the update and reaching out to her. I hope it is a false pregnancy and they can start the treatment for Lyme's disease. I don't get anyone who would send hate mail and threatening notes to people.

I want to offer my apologies to this frightened young girl. I guess sometimes it's easy to just assume that anyone here (especially breeding a dog) is an adult. Again, my sincerest apologies if my words were hurtful.

Also, shame on ANY grown adult for sending hate mail and threats! There is simply NO excuse for that kind of behavior! None! It is one thing to voice your concern or desperation for this animal, but that crosses the line!

I've been following this thread and am happy to finally hear good news! :) Continued prayers for the little pup and her mum KAS.

I haven't posted prior because I am not experienced in this matter. I felt that things that should have been said were said and things that should not have been said were also said, but in the end I think people really just cared about the dog. Some members have seen a lot of neglect and I think it gets the better of the sometimes when new situations arise. However, threatening messages are never something to resort to.

I hope KAS does stick around despite it all. She did what she could and did get the help that she needed (although in a less than pleasant manner for her I'm sure). I give credit to her for continuing to read and stick around this thread.

I know KAS herself is probably too scared to come back and post, but let her know we are happy her pup is alright! In addition, perhaps mention she could still utilize all the great knowledge here by just reading and not have to post if she doesn't feel comfortable.

Ok, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this one.

First, if anyone from here did send a threatening message, it would have had to have been through the PM system here (the poster doesn't list an email on her profile). If that's the case, the messages need to be forwarded to admin and those people dealt with appropriately. I have a seriously hard time believing that anyone who participated in this thread would send a message like that (I do have my suspicions about who would, though...)

The second thing I'm having a hard time with is that the posting times are during normal school hours on both days. Unless she's home-schooled, it doesn't make sense.

I just also want to say I just went back and reread posts and I dont see where the experienced breeders on here belittled or degraded her. I know you have some issues with show breeders because you have partis and you and the show breeders are not in aggreement that they should be bred but I dont think you should let your views on that run into this and thats what I think is happening. All I know is there are very few experienced breeders who attempt to help inexperienced breeders on here. We as forum members may be hoping and praying that one comes on in a serious situation such as this. I Just hope this dfoesnt turn them away too because the advice they gave is what the op needed to hear whether she was 13 or 35 makes no difference. The more harsher posts were from other members who9 were worried or passionate. and let their passion get the best of them. I am just grateful to the people on here that are willing to help

Some possible solutions about the school hours are:

1. kids sometimes have computer time at school
2. kids break the rules and are on their internet cell phones all the time
3. kids (at least in my state) were just on break for a week because they now split the 2 week Easter vacation into one week in February and one around Easter
4. kids get sick or "sick" and stay home from school

I'm not saying that your BS meter is off, but there could be explanations.

I think we can rule out her being at school because she said several times that the pup was beside her.

On break or sick is a possibility. That's nice that the kids in your area get two weeks for spring breaks. We only get 1 week around here and we were worried about losing it because of the whopping 6 inches of snow we got here used up more inclement weather days then we were allotted.

I just want to thank Mardelin for trying to help Kaz, and I hope she and Woogieman do not think your post is in any way directed at them. I was literally crying when I asked Mary to respond to this thread, as a non-breeder I had nothing to offer, except I knew cows milk could cause diarrhea. I was scared to death for this dog, and it sounds like the dogs owners should have been scared as well. Sometimes being fearful for your dogs life, will get you to think of a way to get something done. I mean this had been going on for over 24 hours and the dog couldn't even stand!

Please tell Kaz all hateful and threatening PM's should be forwarded to Admin as this is indeed against YT rules.

Well, I certainly hope for a good outcome, no matter the situation. It's good that Bailey is finally being seen by a vet. That was the whole point of the posts...to get her to a vet.

No one should let their emotions get to where they feel the need to threaten someone...that's just beyond the pale. I have to ask though....did you read the thread? If so, can you show me where breeders were the ones being cruel? The harshest posts I saw were from non-breeders. All posts were blunt...but this was a situation where the OP needed to be told in no uncertain terms just how serious a scenario she had laid out. So what's the point of your editorializing? This thread is not the place to take swipes at someone you may have an agenda with.

Kas can feel free to come on and post about Bailey. We are all concerned for her and do want to know how she's doing.

I'm so grateful that you asked Mary to reply on this thread, Nancy. Like you, I had no experience to offer KAS and felt scared and helpless. Mary, Jim, and others have offered help countless times on countless threads and I hope they know how much they're appreciated. :)

I think that says it in a nutshell and frankly until I hear that Admin received forwarded pm's of alledged "hate/threatening" mail...it's all hearsay (imo).

Just curious if the breeder in contact with KAS has actually spoken to the Vet that was supposedly consulted because I'm still on the fence if this entire thread was even true.

If it is/was true...I still stand by each of my posts. People who breed dogs need to be accountable for their actions. If the OP is a thirteen year old, then her mother is the one most at fault here.
