When a breed is accepted in the AKC FSS program...they are placed in the miscellaneous class for 3 years and then reviewed again. Some breeds never get any further recognition. So even were they accepted TODAY...it will still be years before full AKC recognition.

An application for acceptance into the FSS program would need to be submitted. An accepted foreign registry is just one part of the equation.

They don't. The original dogs came from the same kennel...and trace back to one common ancestor. From there the breeders took different paths...one in Germany and one in America. If a dog is a "biewer"...it's pedigree will trace back to his TWO original dogs, Fru Fru and Darling von Friedheck on both sides.

It depends on who you talk to as to them being different breeds. Alot of people believe they are yorkshire terriers, like the Biewer Yorkshire A la pom Pon, believe they are yorkies, the BTCA believe the Biewer Terrier to be a mix and a breed of its own.
Overseas and in the USA the biewer is still bred back to the Yorkie.

Why would you think that? All she said was the Biewer LINE needed to trace back to Fru Fru and Darling von Friedheck. This doesn't make them a different breed.

No problem.. it is true.. they did take differnet paths.. the Biewer line in Germany was nurtured and developed and prized by a small number of people and allowed to mature.. the Partis history here in the states was not as fortunate until a bit later.. they now are coming into their own and being cherished and protected just as the Biewers were in their earlier history. (IMO)

Partis could never have been a new breed because they are yorkies. They have always been around, but years ago they destroyed them, or gave them away and denied that they existed.

If there's no difference, it's not impossible. partis COULD be recognized as a new breed whether or not they are purebred Yorkie from the beginning. Breed type has changed.

But well worth the effort to have a chance at obtaining full recognition and open the door to improve the breed....if that really IS what partis want.

With the testimony of members, I don't ever see the YTCA giving in to partis in this lifetime, whether or not they're going away...that's not the issue anyway. But if they truly believe the parti is not fit for the Yorkie standard, the AKC may listen and be willing to accept a new standard. Seems like the YTCA has made clear it is a dead-end for partis, but that may not be the only way for partis to get their cute lil’ butts fully recognized and showin’ Seems like the Biewers are making progress...

If you work toward a parti standard, you won’t have to change the Yorkie standard and make many passionate breeders feel you’ve destroyed their lovely breed, but still have recognition and qualification to show. Like I said before, there will be many more reputable breeders jumping on the band wagon to better the breed if partis quit driving against the standard. Seems like a more attainablegoal to me...in the favor of partis.

In RE to the Biewer that's accepted into the Russia's RFK which is an accepted foreign registry by AKC, is it the Biewer Terrier or the Biewer Yorkshire A La Pom Pon? I guess the Biewer Terrier otherwise it would be considered a Yorkie...?

The breed name elsewhere in the world is Biewer Yorkshire a la pom pon. Representatives of AKC advised the US clubs for consideration into the FSS program the word yorkshire needed to be removed from the name.

The BTCA is the only club which refers to their dogs as biewer terriers.
