Question for Biewer/Parti breeder...

Sorry Breezaway I didn't mean to offend with two breeds comment! I'm just trying to understand. So parti and Biewer are one and same?

That was confrontive, not educational. Everyone has a right to post on any thread, not just the parti breeders.

The Biewer was started in Germany, where the registries alliowed them to start a new breed, just by breeding for the different color.

The parti is the same dog, but the AKC does not allow you to start a new breed just by breeding for a different color. it is my understanding that it has to be a mixture of 3 different breeds in order to be accepted by the AKC.

There are several different groups of Biewer breeders. Some believe that the Biewer is a yorkie, others say no it is a mix, but no one seems to know what it is mixed with.

Some claim they have Mrs Biewers breeding records and they show something mysterious which they won't say just what. Others say those records are forged.

Parti people all seem to agree that the parti is just a tricolored yorkie. The AKC had, the breeder, who worked to get the color accepted by the AKC, DNA 42 litters of puppies, before they declared that the parti color was a naturally occuring color in the yorkshire terrier.

Bama Fan gave you what were probably the best simple answers to your questions. I have seen some photos of Biewers that have been championed in their venues but have not yet seen a Parti champion. Maybe someone has pics they can post?

And you'll never see me with an ad to sell dogs on YT or the classifieds. I'm only on the YTCA breeder referral list and I don't even advertise yorkies for sale on my website either My website is for showcasing my accomplishments in the show ring and my pets
