Question for Biewer/Parti breeder... Hello Biewer and parti are the yorkie with white, yes? I was wonder if they are supposed to have the white in certain places, like 'markings' or is it a guessing game of how much white there be? What is preferable for breeding/show ring? less or more white spots? |
With Biewers, there is a standard calling for specific color placement on the dog. With Partis, there is not. Not sure as to what is preferred in the show ring. With Biewers I guess it is just what that breeder prefers? Not sure if judges seem to prefer one certain 'look' over another. With Partis, they have only VERY recently been accepted to show in some venues, so not sure if there has been time to test which 'look' goes over well with the judges. |
The Biewer has a set standard created by Mr Biewer from Germany. It's on my website... www.babyfacebiewers.com if you want to check it out. The color placement on the parti yorkie isn't as specific. Also, Biewers originated in Germany where selective breeding was started. Parti yorkies have an American heritage, I believe. I'm no expert on Parti Yorkies as I own Biewers. You can read about the history of the Biewer there as well. With the Biewer... the color placement is very specific. Hope that answers your question. |
The Biewer began as a breed in Germany. They have their own standard created by Mr. Biewer. It is very specific for color placement, size, coat, etc. When we show our dogs, they are evaluated by the German standard. I'm no expert on parti-yorkies; however, I don't think they are specific for color placement and they originated in America. You can read about the Biewer history and see the standard on my website. www.babyfacebiewers.com Hope that answers your questions.:animal-pa |

(Trying to give you a strait, unbiased answer. Just to let you know, this is a very hot topic and one that does not sit well with either Parti advocates, or those that disagree with breeding outside the standard.) |
Oh okay then I'll zip my lip! Was just curious as it seems so complex. |

Did you do the research yourself? |
Wait...Is the Biewer an offshoot of yorkie or different breed? |

My Biewers have German peds and they call them ( Biewer yorkshire terriers) |

Yorkshire Terrier Club of America (Awards) They are disqualified from showing in AKC shows since it is a color fault. |
So wait...Biewers can be shown but parti's cannot? Doesn't that make them different breed? |

Geeeze here we go again, the Parti Yorkies are AKC registered and can be shown in NAKC and a few other venues. The YTCA did make a disqualification for them in the AKC show ring only because they are afraid the Parti is much prettier and will beat them in the showring so they disqualified them. The YTCA is afraid of the Parti and continues to lie about them on their website, which to me is very tacky and childish coming from a supposedly upstanding club. Just goes to show how low some clubs will stoop to actually lie on their website. Maybe they have Gayle in their club? |
