I was mad, angry and heart broken but I could not blame the mommas, it was my fault. Since then I take many precautions to make sure it does not happen again.

There are so many things that can happen with these little babies and sadly, sometimes lessons are learned the hard way. I know you feel like you are getting picked on but in reality, people are just trying to stress to you that it is our responsibility to do all we can to protect our mommas and their babies. Perhaps someone new to breeding will read this thread and learn from it so they won't make the same mistake we did. Tragedy can strike in a heartbeat so we all need to be prepared and think ahead. I am glad your momma's babies are doing well and I do pray that the momma will be okay.

The momma of the pups who were killed was outside pottying when the other momma killed them, so she knows for sure who did it, and it was the 2nd time it happened!

Also out of a litter of 8 only one survives so far. I think I know why the OP is so upset, this was not a *profitable* undertaking this time around. I feel so sorry for her dogs.

If you reread the original post where she explained what happened it sounded to me like the momma of the litter that had the pups that were killed went back upstairs. The op went upstair afterwords and found the pups dead. It very well could be that Stella, who had had the c-section was just trying to steal the other mommas pups. It think it is pretty cruel of you to say that the OP is only upset because she will not 'profit' because the pups died. We all make mistakes. This could happen to anyone who breeds dogs and lets their guard down, whether they are experienced or not. Good grief, I have lost entire litters before because they delivered to early and I know the pain and it is not about money.

I agree with you, Barb. Regardless of the circumstances, I'm sure the OP is distressed and heartbroken over this. It is very callous to suggest that money is the reason for her being upset. She still has a very sick girl to care for. Let's not throw salt on the wounds.

Sorry to say,I have been waiting for Shasha to come on and tell us that Stella died. When Lola was dying I went to 3 different vets and specialist. I fought for my baby. I think this breeder wants our sympathy. She is not going to get it from me. Only poor Stella who has been bred to death and may not make it. If I were this breeder I would be running from vet to vet until someone could help save Stella not posting on YT for Sympathy. Sorry, I have no Sympathy for this poster.

You are right it was Stella that killed the pups; not the first time it happened. It would only have to happen once to me and the girl would never be bred again. Definately temperament issues. But, that being said, and it was decided to breed the girl, then every precaution should have been taken.

Profit may not be the issue, but breeding several girls at one time applifies the responsibility and vigilance.

... its 3.15am and Stella passed away 10mins ago as i was getting her ready to go to Emergency Vets as her breathing took a turn for the worse.....i never want to see a dog to go through the last 30mins of Stellas life like she did..... it was horrid, awful,and heartbreaking..my poor little girl... I was told today by someone that this would happen to Stella before you came on and said she passed....guess some knew what would happen before you...

look...she knew stellas illness by my thread earlier...there was nothing to be done for this condition chylothorax.....my vet told me she wouldnt make it... there wasnt a cure...... i KNEW what was happening.......that was the hardest part of it all.. and i and no vet could do anything about it. Manolos mum THINKS she knows it all..... !

..i dont think so!....Stella was a working Yorkie and had 4 reserves on her for her pups......i dont do it to make a profit...i breed for stamina, looks and temperment.... and to continue Stellas line that has continued for over 40 years......all my dogs are well loved and live in the home with me... not kennels or cages either..... get your facts right before making comments that you know nothing about!

Sorry about Stella and may she rest in peace but if there was nothing you or the vet could do the most humane thing to do was put her to sleep and let her go in peace....
Manolos Mom does know more than you think, she's a wealth of knowledge with pets and that if it were in the well being of her animals she would exhaust all her options and possiblities and not let a dog suffer so in my opinion she has more heart than most people I know!
