I'm the girlfriend of 'blueandyellow' and I second his review. You can read more into the story here. From our horrendous experience, we both would never recommend this breeder to anyone. BIG risk in disappointment and heartbreak for sure. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/blo...a-machado.html

THIS POST IS SO VERY OLD BUT I WILL NOW RESPOND YEARS LATER NOW THAT I HAVE DECIDED TO JOIN YORKIE TALK. "YORKIHAUS" we all know its easy to come on here and say what you want even though it may not be very credible. I would LOVE to see vet documentation proofing that the dog you purchased from me was diagnosed by your vet as having: grade 4 luxating patella, collapsing trachea and cardia arythmia. I notice you had nothing to back up your story back in 2009 and you probably have much of nothing now. This case is a case of you simply wanting to put down a breeder who has a good reputation as we both know you tried to start your own breeding program but didn't get very far with it. Karma is a bitch. Hope you got what you deserved and have proof backing up your story before you bother opening your mouth. Any educated individual would know that there is 2 sides of every story. And your story is never matched up. Deana LITTLE YORKIE KISS

Take her ass to court. From the sound of it she is all about the money. I know if someone bought one of my dogs and had this problem i would give them back their money and keep the dog and get it healthy. I think what she did to you is BS and thats a lot of money to spend on a sick dog. Next time you buy an expensive dog you better make sure it comes with a clean bill of health from the vet or ask them to go to the vet with you and have it checked out right there on the spot, consider it a dog fax for dogs. I know if I was spending that kind of money I would pay a few extra bucks and have her checked out just like you do when you are buying a used car.Better safe than sorry. I would rather be out of a vet check up than 3,500.00. But I think what she did to you is pretty F'd up. If that was we I would be on social media even go to godaddy and make a website putting her on blast for what she did till she gave in or I made her loose customers. But thats just me I'm an a**hole.

dealing with Deanna is like playing Russian roulette please do not deal with this breeder. She will say anything to sell a dog and it is pure luck if you get a good dog or a very sick dog. I personally bought a dog she was using for breeding and she told me he was one age and months later sent me a dated picture of him, with her that was taken months before he was even suppose to have been born...funny...he had a full long coat as well. I refused to ever do business with her again.... my poor friend is going through hell with a dog she just got from Deanna but that is her story to tell. involves a very sick dog. If you have had good luck health wise with her dogs good for you. But is is very hit and miss and she will do nothing for you. Believe the postings here...the are true YORKIES bring great joy to our lives....buy from an honest breeder for goodness sake so you can experience this from day one. Shame on you Deanna.

Y'know, this thread is just terrible to read. It's just rotten to read about a number of people having bad experiences with a breeder. I live in Alberta and not too long ago went through the process of finding a breeder. Of course I had come across Deana but I knew immediately I wouldn't even bother contacting her. What is her purpose for breeding? Is she just breeding to produce more dogs? I believe people should seek out a show breeder, one that they feel comfortable with, for a number of reasons. A show breeder is trying to produce the best dogs they can. That would involve not only things like health testing, but also things like being able to analyze pedigrees, keeping up to date on genetics research, and so on. So they should, from a statistical standpoint, have much better odds of producing healthy dogs. They breed to better the breed. And there's a number of breeders out there who say that but they won't elaborate on what that means to them. A show breeder is breeding for things like health, temperament, and conformation. And those features are more likely to be present in their dogs because they've worked really really hard for years. And they tend to be very passionate about the breed. Genetics is involved, usually quite strongly, in nearly everything; including many health issues which are congenital and even the susceptibility of some health issues that are acquired. A show breeder is basically doing eugenics for dogs as a means to better the breed and improve the genetic quality. When I was contacting breeders, I wanted them to impress me by telling me all about the science involved in how they select which dogs to breed together (and I think you tend to get that with show breeders more so than others), and then after that I wanted to see how much time, money, and effort they put into caring for the puppies. I think too often potential buyers will maybe see a picture of a dog on a website and become emotionally attached without giving much thought to these issues. Or perhaps don't understand that two healthy dogs can produce an unhealthy dog because of recessive genes and other factors as well. And that might not be something people think about unless they've perhaps studied genetics in high school or university. There's definitely a lot that goes into somebody being an amazing breeder and producing quality healthy dogs. That's why I insisted on only purchasing from a show breeder - because I knew I would have better odds of getting a healthy dog. In regards to this Deana woman, perhaps she's taking every precaution to breed the best dogs she can. But I doubt it. If she was breeding like that she'd probably be showing her dogs. And it's kinda suspect with this thread and all the people talking about getting an unhealthy dog from her. Certainly even with the most thorough pedigree analyses and everything else, an unhealthy dog can come about perhaps because of 'genetic noise' or whatever other reason. It's just something that can happen, but health issues can be reduced if the breeder is breeding in a thoughtful manner. But much more telling is Deana's response to this thread. There was a different way for her to respond. I can understand that she's probably upset about this thread. But to respond the way she did, all I can say is that I'm very glad I decided not to deal with her. But I knew that ahead of time. She's not a show breeder. She's just breeding for the purpose of producing more dogs.

Why is this woman breeding Yorkies? She doesn't show her dogs, so she must be breeding for the profit. I can't imagine paying $3,000 for a yorkie. I didn't pay that much for my show girl! I didn't pay that much for either of my show girls. That is just an astronomical price to me. Did you ask about genetic testing when purchasing a female to breed?
