Hi All, I did speak with Deana about this situation and she told a totally different tale. From what she told me the lady took the puppy then a week later contacted her about all the problems. When Deana ask her to take the puppy to one of her vets she was met with hostility. I am sure she will still take the dog back but not sure what happens next with the money. I am not a breeder so I don't know what should happen..... I really hope that this dog will be ok and that the lady and Deana will come to a peacful arrangement.

Here is my side....as there are always 2 sides to a story...Deana and I live 3hrs away from each other, so it was nice of her to meet me half way. I met her on Sunday Oct.25 to pick up the dog. My vet was closed on Sunday so I made her an appt for check up first thing on Monday. That is when my vet discovered all these things. I called Deana right away, it hadn't even been 24 hrs since I had the dog. I told her I would drive to EDMONTON and bring the dog back to her. She told me she needed some time to talk to her co-breeder because they were not going to jump to any decisions about this. I thought that was kind of odd for her to say but I told her to call me when she heard from her co- breeder. Few days go by....nothing. Then Deana tells me its her birthday on Thursday (4 days after I got the dog) and doesnt want to deal with this til Monday (1 week later). On Monday she gives me 2 vet names in EDMONTON to take the dog to. I told her I had 2 vet diagnosis from CALGARY where I live. I told her that was a 6 hr drive for me and too far to go. I told her to pick any 2 vets out of the Calgary phonebook and I would go wherever she wanted me to in CALGARY. All vets take the same schooling and exams to become doctors, they dont lie! At this point I knew I was getting the run around and I was very upset. She knows I will not drive that far! what if I lived in Toronto? would she expect me to fly down to Edmonton to see her 2 vets because for some reason they are BETTER than any other? TO NIKKISMUM; I am glad you had a good experience with Deana because thats how it should be....I didnt! and I am not looking forward to all the vet bills this little dog is going to bring me...but I love her and have accepted it already! If Deana cares so much about her dogs and stands behind her contract 110% then why wouldnt she take this dog back the very next day???Because the money is more important to her! And I do have emails and text messages from her to back up my story because I would not just make something up to hurt someone else....thats not me!

Deana Machado I met Deana when I purchased my first Yorkie three years ago. Since that time, we purchased our second Yorkie from Deana....both dogs are very healthy, and Deana was great to deal with. Not only did Deana follow up a number of times to see how the puppies were, she has actually taken our 2 yorkies into her home when we were on vacation recently. This should speak volumes about Deana's love of all her pups. I'm sorry to hear about your sick puppy. I would suggest speaking with Deana again personally as I know her to be a very sincere person and definitely not "all about the money" as you outline in your statement. On the contrary, I have never met anyone who cared more about her animals.

Deana is now calling me a ''disturbed individual'' Am I disturbed because I am upset about buying a sick dog? I gave Deana $3500 for a 15 month old dog on a open breeding contract that was stated in the contract as ''healthy''. The problem is that the dog is not healthy. Deana will NOT accept my 2 vets diagnosis from the vets in Calgary, which cost me over $300 with bloodwork. I am willing to get 2 more vets diagnosis for her but she will NOT accept because its not her vet. I will not drive 6 hrs to her city in Edmonton just to get the same diagnosis from her vet. Its funny how all these newbies just joined in Nov when I did all have to say what a great breeder Deana is, I wonder how they would feel if this happened to them? All I can say is...If Deana is such a caring breeder, WHY DIDNT SHE CARE ABOUT THIS DOG??? I think ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS! She talks about how her contract is there to protect her...who is there to protect people like me from people like her? I really have no one to blame but myself for being naive. AGAIN, ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS! Deana, put your pride aside for a moment and deal with this issue. Instead of having your friends post all these wonderful things about you, why dont you let me be the one to post about what a positive experience I could have with you if we only try to work this out. I dont want to feel this negativity anymore. You are the only one who can change the outcome of this situation....

I too am disappointed to hear someone talk soo negatively about Deanna! I have purchased 2 BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHY, WONDERFUL PUPPIES from her in the past and will only buy puppies from her again. Very disappointing to hear her being put down soo badly! She is truly a wonderful caring person of her dogs!!!! Unfortunately you can't keep everyone happy.

Glad to hear you had a good experience, I wish I would have too. I bought an older dog from Deana (1.5 yrs old) Now my dog will be getting surgery on her level 4 patellas that Deana knew about and did not tell me. The surgery will cost me over $1000 and thats not all, she has a heart arythmia too. I tried to return the dog 24hrs after I purchased her when I found out from my vet all the problems. She would not take her back. What kind of breeder would not take their own puppy back after 24hrs??? One that obviously doesnt care about the well being of the dog! You would be upset if this happened to you too...especially if you paid over $3000 for a dog with breeding rights and then you find out it has all these hereditary problems! Enjoy your dog while you can, I dont know how long mine will be around with all the problems she has

I bought her 3 months ago. Just before halloween. She is a sweet girl. Im just so upset that Deana doesnt even aknowledge the problems! A caring breeder would not just sluff you off like that. If I were Deana i would have sold her as PET only and told the poor new owner of all her problems! It amazes me because I thought she was such a nice caring person too.

Yorkihaus I'm new to YT also. First off, I get my babies from local humane society and/or rescue clubs. When buying from breeders/pet shops it promotes more BREEDING!!! As I said, this is my personal feelings. That being said. I'm in agreement w/yorkihaus. Makes no differance if she contacted the breeder on Monday or a week later. We're only talking 1-2 weeks here. There's absolutely NO reason why this "breeder" shouldn't except Yorkihaus's 2 vet evalutations. Makes me wonder if Deana has her vet in her pocket . My advise would be 1st call to her. If she won't work w/u than my second call would be my attorney. This Deana should at least be responsible for the generic problems. Wondering what you named your little baby & hope all works well. Thinking of you.

cheated out of puppy I know this thread is old but I wanted to make a post just to add to how much people should beware of Deana Machado and her Little Yorkie Kiss business. I recently wanted to buy a puppy from her, and I selected a boy out of the ten puppies she had from her latest litter. I put a down payment on him and we conversed for the last month about what I'd need and when to pick him up. A week before the pickup date I paid her half the amount I owed for the pup. Two days before I picked him up she said he was sick, and that she would need to keep him for ten days until he had his antibiotics. I patiently waited, and when she said he was feeling better and ready to be picked up I paid her the rest I owed. I was set to pick him up on Saturday at 10am. at 9:30, she texted me saying she was keeping the dog and sending me my money back. I pleaded with her to let me have the dog, as I had already fallen in love with him and had bought everything I needed to take care of him. She said no, and instead offered me her dogs that she'd owned for years already as a replacement for a "reduced price". I told her that I wanted the puppy we'd agreed upon for the last month, and she hung up on me. I feel cheated, I am heartbroken, and I can't believe Deana has the gall to try and sell me her own dog as a replacement for the one I'd already fallen in love with. Do not buy a Yorkie from Little Yorkie Kiss or Deana Machado, she is not professional and does not care about her clients.
