If she thinks she has to poo all the time, she is progressing well. You should start noticing contractions soon, earlier contractions sometimes just look like a shudder or kind of a rippling through her body, real pushing usually starts later. |
Thanks Winston! Ok, I just found some brownish/redish stuff on my blanket that she ruffled up. She cleaned her vulva so I don't see anything there....but her long hair around her tail and bum is also wet with this. I don't think it's diareha cause it doesn't have a poop smell really. |

Our little Maya started spotting and having discharge hours before she was in active labor, chances are your little girl is in the beginning stages of labor. Keep us posted and let us know how things are progressing. Hoping things progress nicely, Tara:) |

Thanks. It just wiggs me out that she's so calm and sleepy....I imagined her being much more fidgety than this. She changes position every half hour or so....but that's it! |

She just sauntered into the livingroom and went on the couch....she is shaky, shivery.....is this bad??????????? |
Can't edit....please see above post about shakes/shivers I then brought her to our room and she left a few drops of what looks clear to me and then went in box to dig.... Is this shiver/shake that just started bad??? Or normal????? |
That is very normal. It just means the contractions are probably getting harder and she is probably starting to hurt as the pups move toward the birth canal. |
Thanks. I just talked to my vets assistant. She also said it was ok. She said I could give her a little smackle of honey if I wanted as well. She calmed down instantly....then gave a few not too strong pushes in a row. It is my understanding that the first pup could take numerous hours (3 or more) from the start of momma pushing.....am I right? |
Marc, I don't let my girls push really hard for more than an hour or else I am off to the vet. |
Yes, it could still be several hours. Some females progress fast in their labor and some go slow, just like when women have babies. They are all different. |

Is this not correct? |

I'm getting a bit confused about how long it's ok for her to get that first pup out from first sign of pushing....anyone wanna clarfiy....again, my phone help says it could take many hours yet. |
