7 Weeks Today!
 

Well, Halle hit the 7 weeks mark today (give or take a few days).
I must admit, this pregnancy has been driving me crazy with doubt. Even after seeing one puppy on the ultrasound, I have still often worried about whether or not she was truly pregnant. I'm not really sure why; maybe because we did only see one puppy and I was fearful of it being reabsorbed. Not ever having experienced a possible singleton pregnancy, I think I was also expecting too much too soon in more noticeable belly changes. But I am finally feeling a little more sure of the pregnancy the last few days. Halle's sides and belly are now continuously looking fuller, & earlier this afternoon I think I actually felt a solid lump (for just a second or two) that may have been a puppy!
Anyway, the 7 week mark means that it's belly picture time again! :D For some reason beyond my understanding, Halle just doesn't get nearly excited about this as I do:rolleyes:. Still ever reluctant to lay on her back for a picture (even propped up with a pillow), I once again had to call on hubby for help. So, here she is!

Halle is stunning! <3 Her belly looks just like Roxie's. And I know how you feel. I didn't get a u/s though, so my doubt was pretty high as to if she was preg or not. Roxie is at day 52 now and I am excited to say that I now KNOW for sure she is pregnant. LOL you'd think I would have known sooner, eh? (It's like when I was pregnant with my children. I knew I was pregnant but it didn't sink in until I felt them kick.) Last night as I was rubbing Roxie's belly, I felt a pup! I could even tell that what I was feeling was a head, and a limb. It was wriggling around, and it was the coolest thing to feel. I think it's just the one puppy in there, on her right side. I gently felt around on the left side and didn't feel a thing. If it's only one, that explains why her belly is still smallish. I was hoping for two, because I hear that singletons are larger. I guess time will tell! Three more days until her x-ray.

Last night she was licking her rear end for hours. She kept me up until 4 am! And she wouldn't snuggle with me. She was super restless. Based on the wacky times that she tied, I think she's due the 18th but it could also be as soon as the 10th :eek: I doubt it is the latter though. She wasn't in heat when I left her, so it would have been too soon.

Sorry for rambling on and on, ha ha.

Roxie is the pickiest eater ever. I'm starting to get worried. She hasn't touched her food in days! The only thing she'll eat is eggs, and she can't live off those alone. She'll eat one morsel of food here and there, but mostly she ignores her food bowl. This morning I cooked her an egg and she barked at me the entire time I was cooking it. When I put it down for her, she raced over and gobbled it up like she was starving. I had to crush up her kibble into microscopic pieces with a potato masher and tried to mash it all together with the egg but she still managed to eat the egg and leave all of the tiny crumbles of dog food in her bowl. Sigh!

I guess I'll have to try canned dog food to entice her but I don't want her to get diarrhea. She'll just eat around the kibble if I mix it in.

Awwww. That's definitely a paw-baby bump going on. I just wanna rub her little belly :D How exciting...soon you'll be able to feel the little one(s) moving around in there.

Aww thank you on your compliment about Halle! I too think that she is beautiful; I really love her straight silky hair.
I'm still waiting to actually see and feel the baby(s) move in her belly, but yes I do feel more confident within the last few days. Feeling the babies move is an awsome experience.:D
Please be sure to take your camera with you for the xray & get a picture or two if you can to share with us. Three more days; is that on Monday then? I can't wait to see.:D
Definintely try some canned food for her. I've been giving Halle Wellness canned puppy food and (yes I know it's not the best) Cesars Puppy food in those little tubs. She actually prefers the Cesars; I figure at this point it's better that she is at least eating something. I too try to throw in a little puppy kibble....even have also done the grinding it up.....and yes, Halle will lick all the wet food off then drop the kibble back in the bowl. I sure hope I can get her back on the kibble when she is done with this pregnancy and nursing.

Hallie is a beauty! I love preggy belly pics! Can't wait to see what's inside....

Awwww, Rose....she is such a doll!! If it makes you feel any better, I wasn't really able to feel Livi's babies until her last or second to last week. I would even laugh and tell my hubby that the xray had to have been switched with a dog that is actually pregnant. ;)

Can't wait to hear that Halle has had that beautiful baby! :)

Congratulations Rose- I am keeping up with you and Halle on here. She is just gorgeous and I know there is more than one baby in there!!!

My Roxy started acting that way as well.. So i started boiling chicken and steaming rice.. After a day of that I started putting dry food mixed in (however I would wet it first) after I'd mixed it together she ate it. I just kept putting more wet/dry food in than chicken and rice.. now she's back to eating dry puppy food.. but on occasion she'll be picky for the chicken and rice mixture

Well, I couldn't wait! I had the xray done today instead :D (actually, two, because she 'has a lot of bowel' and it was a little obstructive), luckily they had a few appointments open due to cancellations.

The good news is, she is indeed pregnant. Unfortunately there is only a singleton pup! The vet thought he saw two skulls but he couldn't be sure, even with the two xrays. There was only one visible spine. So, who knows, but I guess I'll just count on having one puppy. The number isn't what disappoints me, just the fact that singletons are larger. Her pelvis is a bit small so it's worrying to me. Vet said it looks as if the puppy will be able to pass safely thru, though. :thumbup:

They will be emailing the xrays to me. They said to wait about 24 hours, so hopefully I'll be able to post them tomorrow and you guys can share your opinions!

Oh I know it would scare me as well only having one. THey have more room to grow. Try not to worry too much though. If doc sais it will be fine then go with it. If there is a problem just make sure you have a back up plan. Cant wait to see those xrays! How far is she again? Mine is due on the 26th from first tie.

How many days is your lil girl... Ya-Ya is 38 days today since tie 1, Im thinking shes 6 days behind though!! I just felt another lil ball around the same spot!!!

Congratulations on the good (Positive) news! Yes it can be a bit nerve-wracking having a singleton knowing it's got more room to grow larger, but I've seen many whelp stories of singletons that were born naturally with no complications. That is what I am hoping for with Halle (if she truely does just have one) and I wish you the same for Roxie. I am also comforted a little bit knowing that my sire's line is known for throwing small babies, so I hope that helps. I am anxious to see your xray!:)

She is due on the 18th.. so only 11 more days! I guess I should have waited a couple more days for the xray as she is only 52 days today, but the pup showed up on film so it all worked out. I'm praying there are two puppies, since the vet thought he might have seen a second skull, but I have a feeling it's only one. I have only been able to feel one when I'm rubbing her belly, on the right side. I actually can't even feel her uterine horn on the left at all, so it's probably empty lol.

Thank you Rose! I hope we both have uncomplicated whelpings :) It sure is nervewracking. The sire is a pretty tiny guy, 2 lb 15 oz, and I've seen his puppies- tiny little things! So it will probably work out alright.

Thought Id post my latest pics.. this was taken Wednesday where we assume 6 weeks (or 5weeks 1 day)... I dont see a difference in her lil tits... HELPPPPPPP what do you ladies think???

Her nips seem a bit smaller than Roxie's were at that point, but can you feel any kind of developing tissue beneath them?

Oh and the xrays are already in my email box!! Uploading now :) they're a weird quality so hopefully you can see them ok. Roxie seriously had a belly full of poop or something, because it's pretty hard to see with all of her bowels in the way.

YES! They asked if her mammary glands are swelling, so I assume its a swelling around the breasts? If thats it, yes, they even look saggy. Let me see if I can get a pic of it....

That is usually a pretty good sign! Is she having discharge? Rox had some yucky discharge beginning around 5-6 weeks. Now she constantly licks her behind, so I don't notice it anymore.

Blast! This x-ray is really crappy quality. I think the tech took a pic of it with her cell phone and sent it to my email. In the actual office, it wasn't so whited out in the middle, and you could make out the puppy's skull, (it is breech) and what LOOKED like a possible second skull next to the first. But only one spine.

Oh and the second x-ray, view from above, is useless. It's nearly completely whited out and you can't make anything out. So I won't post it. Sadness- in the office I could see a pup there as well.

You can see the spine on the lower left! Aww. Puppy looks cute already. Hehe. I wish the pic wasn't so bright and weird.

they do seem a little 'saggy'.. If she's preggo I'd say more like 5 weeks instead of 6, but of course I'm no expert LOL.

Just wait it out for another week or so and hopefully you'll be able to tell. Roxie literally began showing overnight. One day she was tiny and slender, and the next morning she had a firm round(er) belly!

Hooowww cuuutteee... I cant wait to do mines! :)

BTW- Im not too sure if she is having a discharge, I do find her licking down there lately, but when I go look, its already all wet! So I cant tell. I hate this waiting period, I had a dream last night that they said she was preggy with one puppy & the vet said be careful the puppy is too big, I was like OMG!!! C-section... o NO!!! I hope thats doesnt really happen! But Id like to hear more input! so please comment away!

How's her weight ? Cheeky's weight si increasing by the miniute!!! She's 8 1/2 lb now :eek: I felt about 3 lumps, but you never know?! I'm planning to take her for x-ray on 17th to see how many & how big... that will make me feel much better.. not knowing is just too much for me to handle:confused:

The original xray may have been better, but I can easily see the puppy's spine and maybe even the head here. Itsn't it just about the coolest thing? I had a female that had 4 pups almost 2 years ago & we could clearly see all 4 pups on the xray. It was great. It's posted here on YT on one of my old threads.
Hmmm, still awfully hard to tell...(I know, I know, the waiting & wondering stinks). I'd agree that if she is, the pics look more like around 5 weeks along. When was she bred?

Oh thank you! My only complaint, if you want to call it that, is that I wish her hair was just a tiny bit thicker. Maybe the pup(s) will get that part from their daddy.:p Halle's weight is up to 7 1/2 lbs. When I took her for her wellness check in May she was 6.7, then late June or early July she was 6.13, then she lost some weight and was down to 6.6, with a steady increase since then. I'm pretty certain that I felt a puppy's body part yesterday and today......MAYBE......I may have felt my first little flutter, just once though, so far.:D

RoxieHart, I meant to ask you too.........with just a singleton, how much weight has Roxie gained?

She almost never eats her food in her own(I tried more than 12 different wet puppy food brands) except dried chicken strips(she loves it, but eats only about 2) I've been srynge feeding her for 7weeks now... ... Her appetite never picked up. I guess I have to srynge feed her till end of her PG. Hope Roxie will eat her food soon. Good luck!

Hi everyone. I just wanted to take a minute and post some pictures of Diva's baby belly. She seems huge compared to last time. She's been going to work with me this week while I've been preparing my classroom for the first day of school. She hates to be out of my site. I think I can hear 3 heart beats, but of course that's not all that accurate. She is due on the 17th but went 3 days early with her last litter. So I am officially watching her like a hawk now, lol.

How much does everyones girls weigh? Mine was 8 pds before her tie, I guess I cant say she is having puppies because I have not felt anything. she does seem larger and feels hevier, but I could just be thinking she is hevier because all my other yorkies are smaller than her. Mayber the little ones are up higher, not too sure I guess only time will tell.
