I called about 3 different vets in the city and they all told me that I need to go to emergency unit for oxytocin shot!!! IT costs about $500+ !!! Why is it so expensive? My vet told me to wait since little pieces of placenta are coming out little at a time.... I don't know what to do... Is it really bad to wait for it to come out naturally? By the way, puppies are so cute and funny... some of them are sucking at each other's ears and paws thinking its mommy's nipples... LOL:D |
The cost wouldn't bother me as much as the mom's life would. |
Do all girls stop eating before they welp? I am looking and waiting and see nothing. Today is day 63 temp is still high tonight, she is just doing everything normal and walking around like la ti da. I am going nuts, she sleeps in a different room because I have no place in my room so she sleeps in my sons room and he is out of state and, my two younger girls does not like to sleep in there and they sleep with me. So I get up several times a night to check on her. Just waiting. Oh and another thing how long after the last tie should I be concerned? From the first tie to the last tie there are 4 days. 5 Days till Day 63 Chloe just had her x ray done and we see 3 adorable puppies! We are so excited and can't wait! :) |

Your babies are so very cute and tiny; my singleton last week was about 6 1/2 ounces at birth. Quite a difference. Good luck with them all....watch that tiny one closey. |
Oh, No... Its not about the money. I have platinum package insurances for all my 5 furbabies which cover almost everything. However, what I don't like is that these hospitals taking advantage of people like us who love their dog and would do everything for them... ... Four month ago, my oldest boy Crusty broke one of his toe and I took him to ASPCA emergency room. The Vet didn't know anything about how to inspect the dog's leg and he had to google it. After 30min of googling, and x-ray, he finally figured out that crusty's toe was broken and told me to let him stay at home for 2month. They charged me $480 for that! for him to google it..... I rather donate that money to animal shelter!!! Anyway, I took Cheeky to hospital and got her oxy shot, and placenta came out which made me feel much better:) I have to make sure Weiny(2oz) eats every an hour, so I haven't slept much for 2days now:tired: but good news is that he's getting better and he can find nipples by himself now:p Oh, all of their umbilical cords fell off today! I'm going to put cors in their scrap books:D |
Puppies are a lot of fun... I'm so happy for you, Halle and Toby. My baby girl Hershie had 3 puppies on the 19 June 09 and I was so excited. I had 2 x-rays done to make sure she was having more than 1 puppy cause I didn't want her to have to have a C-section. Hershie did great giving birth to her babies, the first puppy she had by herself (since she had them 3 days early, on the 60th day instead of the 63rd day,and I helped with the other 2) This was her first pregnancy and she is a fabulous mother to her babies. I know Halle will be a great mother too. Congrats again. Puppies are a lot of fun to have around the house. |

August Litter Pawever Yorkie: How are the puppies doing and how is the mama and daddy doing? I hope all is well with the family. I can still remember when my lil girl had her puppies in June, it seems just like yesterday. They are a lot of fun but I understand about the sleepless nights and the lack of sleep from the constant worry about the mama and her puppies. I've learned from Hershie's litter that the mama does need time to herself so that she can unwind and get the love she needs from her mama, meaning you. When it comes time to weam the puppies, if you get a onesy for newborn babies to put on the mama, you'll have to cut out a hole for the tail, it will allow her to continue to be around her babies and play with them without worrying about the puppies trying to sneak some milk from the mama. If you need any advice, I'm hear for you. Take care of the lil ones and Congradulation, grandma! |

I've been watching Cheeky and indeed she looked at me as if she wanted to be picked up by me. I took her out of whelping box and gave her mini shower, rubbed her belly and played with her here and there through out the day and she enjoyed it a lot, thank you!:D I just worry about the little one(Weiny). I've been making sure he gets to eat before others, becase others are much bigger than him and they kinda bully him(sleeping on top of him, pushing him while he's eating, etc...) I do have a question about dewclaw and tail docking... they are 3~4oz ans smallest one is only 2oz and its 3rd day today, when can I do dewcalw and tail docking? I was thinking about 5th day... |

On puppy watch now! Chloe's temp has steadily been decreasing since yesterday! 1oo.7 then 99.2 then today at 10 am it is down to 97.5 and being really lazy as long as i am sitting in the box with her! |
We have a 99.9 this morning and I just checked again it is 99.0. She is lazy as well, but I dont blamehe for carying thatbig belly. SHe scratches often, but maybe something will happen this evening when all is calm. Maybe Avery and Chole will have litters the same day |
