Hi puppy watchers!

Lord I am so tired. Today was our first day back to school and Diva is keeping me hopping. Sunday her temp dropped to 99.7 and I thought it was time for sure. 2 hours later it was back to normal. No puppies yet. Her belly has dropped and feels so tight. She is still eating, but that's not much help. Last time she was eating French fries with me 45 minutes before her first puppy was born. I am praying that I do not get fired up here. I refuse to leave her alone for a minute and since I'm in a self contained class, I snuck her up here with me and have her hidden in one of our bathrooms, with an out of order sign on the door. I'm the only class in this building so I doubt we will be discovered, but it's worth taking a chance.

I can feel the puppies moving around like crazy and am almost sure that I feel 3 for sure. I cannot wait for these babies to get here.

I wish that I could bring my dog to work with me, but there's no chance. You guys are so lucky.

Advice?? Well, not advice; I am by no means an expert, but here's my thoughts on scheduling a c-section...........if your vet did not originally suggest doing it right away, then don't. Why put mom through more stress if it's not necessary. Didn't I read that Roxie was in the 6 pound range pre pregnancy? That's about what Halle is/was. As far as breech goes; I take it you're meaning butt first. It's got those 10+ days to turn around and also it is fairly common (and okay) for them to come out that way. It may take a little more time to slide all the way out, but it can be done. If it gets stuck doesn't necessarily mean it's a goner, it just means you may have to assist. You can do it!!!:thumbup: Read, read, read, in these last few days. And I may be wrong here....a more experienced breeder can correct me if I am.....but I would think at this point the skull itself is done growing; it's the body that is filling out in the last days. So I don't think the head will get any bigger. But by all means, if you feel more comfortable getting another x-ray & opinion closer to her due date, go for it. Do what ever you need to do to put your mind at ease.:)

Hi everyone!! I have been following this post and want to thank everyone for their valuable information. I know this isn't at all relevant to what subject everyone is on right now but I am soo excited I just had to post it. some of you may know my situation but for those of you who don't I will recap. so my girl is about 6 weeks pregnant and several days ago she started vomiting and had really bad diarrhea and would not eat or drink for like 2 days. I took her to the vet and after numerous tests and even an x-ray, they said she has mycoplasma and for those of you who don't know what that is, it is a parasite that basically eats or damages red blood cells. and from the research I did, it can also kill the puppies if the dog is pregnant. so I was very very worried. the x-ray did not show any puppies and it was very cloudy due to a lot of fluid in her tummy. I was so excited that she was pregnant and now there might not have been a chance that she was pregnant at all. I was very worried for Cinnamon and her puppies. well, after getting fluids at the vet and her medicine she is doing a lot better. and the best part is that I went and got an ultrasound done and she is have definitely 4 and maybe 5 puppies!!!!! all living and healthy! now, you have to understand that when I bred her, the stud for some reason could not tie with her, so there was ONE time when we where able to hold there butts together while he was inside for only like 3 minutes. so I am very happy to say that with one outside tie we got 4 maybe 5 pups!! I am just so happy I just don't know what to do with myself!!!!:):)

I am happy for you and glad to hear all is well with your girl! When is she due? 4-5 puppies!! How exiting!

she is due around august 29th. I just hope everything else goes smoothly.

Thank you for the advice Rose, you definitely eased my fears :) I wasn't aware that the skull stops (slows) growing towards the end, so that is great to hear. Roxie is due anytime between yesterday and the 18th so I am really on edge here!

I was able to get some surgical scissors from my school (I'm in pre-nursing) for the umbilical cord. I know any scissors will do, but these things are neat. And sterile. Haha.

Roxie is laying on my lap right now and I just felt the puppy completely flip around! (Roxie's belly is pressed to my thigh and that pup is wiggling around like crazy in there.) How cool!

My due dates are 8/26, 8/27 and 8/29. I am so glad that your mama is doing good and the pups as well.

Well no puppies yet. Diva is quite uncomfortable, though. She is refusing to eat anything that I don't hand feed to her. Dog food is refused completely. So she is being a true Diva, lol.

HA... she sounds like my Roxy. She had her puppies on Saturday and there is NO WAY she's touching "DRY" puppy food.. I have to mix it with boiled chicken and steamed rice...

Good Luck on everyone's upcoming whelps! I can't wait to see pics and I pray for easy whelps for all!

Well, that's not a known fact (about the skull growth) on my part, it just seems logical & makes sense to me.
Gosh, I sure wish Halle would sit still long enough for me to really feel that puppy move for more than a second.:( She's either always on the move or if she is laying around (usually on her side these days), if I dare try to sneak up and lay my hand on her, she's up and moving again.:rolleyes:

Boy, with all the pups we've had so far and the ones left to go, we've got whelps almost every week this month!!!

Had Jenna xrayed today and no puppies. She is having a false pregency. It is really sad. She has milk and trying to nurse her toys.

I have Jasmine xrayed on Friday so we will see if I have any there. I think I can feel one. I hate to say this but I almost rather have none in there as one. She will have to have a csection.

I am sorry to hear about the false pregnancy, Melissa. Do you plan on breeding her next heat? If so, I wish you luck! I will keep my fingers crossed for multiple puppies for Jasmine. I know how you feel. I am super stressed about the fact that Roxie is only having one puppy! I just have a feeling that she may end up needing a c-section. She has like 1-1.5 inches in between her hip bones. I'll have to keep her vet on high alert when she goes into labor.

Rose, I hope you can feel Halle's pup(pies) soon! It's an awesome feeling. At first I wasn't really thinking about it when I felt the puppy moving on my leg.. I was like Ohh goodness, what is this? haha. Now, almost every time I feel Roxie's right side, I can feel a part of the puppy pushing out. A bum, foot, head.. random lumps.. ha ha. Makes me wonder what it would feel like if she had multiple babes in there! (Funny how the left side of her belly is smooth and firm, and the right side is wiggly and lumpy)

Yeah I plan on trying again her next heat. The vet said it may stop it. The ver told me that if she had 3 false pregency just to have her spayed. Her mom had false pregency until I breed her and it stopped it. I am hoping for the same thing with Jenna. Jenna is special to me so she will always be here.

Jasmine had a csection last time so if it is a repeat I will be having her spayed and try to place her in a perfect pet home. Some say she can have 3 sections but I don't want to put her through all that for one pup. Don't get me wrong I love the singletons they are super sweet and you get so much 1 on 1 with them. It is so hard to sell a single you get so attached.

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear about Jenna's false pregnancy. & will hope and pray for the best for Jasmine. I'll be checking back here on Friday to see what you find out. Halle has her xray also on Friday.


Elyse, I have seen & felt the puppy move a little, just nothing like you describe. Like I mentioned, Halle is definitely not one to have her belly messed with for very long. I'm driving myself nuts......still today, even with seeing the live pup on the ultrasound way back when I started this thread and seeing some movement, I STILL get paranoid now and then that it's not really there. I will be so glad for Friday to get here so the xray can put my doubts to rest.

Elyse, How about posting a updated belly picture for us? Or better yet, a video of that active puppy?:D

I am getting Sammie x-rayed on the 24th. She is due on the 28th. Last time I went to early and couldn't get the x-ray done.

Well Avery is showing a little, but I do not feel anything and she is 7 weeks. I have heard by this time you should be able to feel something. Now I am a little worried and confused. I think this timeframe should be called the confusion time.

Christina, I didn't really feel anything until 7.5 weeks. Now we're at 8 weeks and I feel the puppy all the time. It's probably easier to feel when your girl is having a large litter. She might be only having 1 or 2 pups, are you going to get an xray just to be sure?
