| Mine usually start to show between 5-6 weeks. It is normal for their appetite to decrease. You only have a few short weeks and need to learn as much as you can...now. I started my research 2 years before my first litter was born, and to this day, I'm still learning. Also, be prepared...you will get bashed by others for not knowing anything prior to your little girl getting pregnant. Good Luck! |

You might want to see if there is a breeder in your area that would be willing to give you some mentoring, maybe even witness a whelping. Ask your vet for advice. Make an appoinment for a prenatal check on your girl. Get xrays or ultrasound as the due date nears, to see how many puppies to expect, and see what other help your vet may have to offer.

| I would put the girl on the best diet I could afford. Personally, I home cook and the extra nutrients needed can easily be added to the food. If you give kibble, you might want to try a supplement for pets. I also have a recipe for Healthy Powder by Dr Pitcairn. PM me if you want it. I am not a breeder, but a calcium supplement would also be a good idea. Read everything you can and take it easy with your girl. Get everything ready before the time comes.

| My girls do not show any "belly" until 5 weeks after the mating... i take them for ultrasounds by them to see if they are pregnant, then Xrays usually on day 56 , but by then the belly is very big and pregnancy is very obvious. The purpose of this xray is to see how many pups are "cooking" and if any is looking in the right position on if there are any "breech" positioned. Hope i helped.

| No calcium supplements. If you gave calcium supplement (Meaning calcium pet tabs) during gestatin the body says "Hey whou should I release any calcium into the blood stream as I'm getting it from an outside wource. I think I'll just shut down and not do any work." Then the puppies are born, more calcium is needed for milk and the bod is not producing it on it's own. All of sudden Eclampsia results. Don't give calcium pills. A Pet Tab is Ok. Increase the food during the last three weeks of gestation.

| debbiejensen.com is good and just do extensive research. Research and education should be a priority. There is always something new to research about Yorkies. You can never have enough knowledge. |

| I would also recommend a mentor. Our mentor has been an wonderful advisor. She has 20 years on us and is very knowledgable. We actually met her when purchasing one of our females. We have a continual friendship. She always comes to see the babies |
