My girls do not show any "belly" until 5 weeks after the mating... i take them for ultrasounds by them to see if they are pregnant, then Xrays usually on day 56 , but by then the belly is very big and pregnancy is very obvious. The purpose of this xray is to see how many pups are "cooking" and if any is looking in the right position on if there are any "breech" positioned.
