| ![]() I just checked out the colostrum, how often should I give that to him? Or do I mix it in with his milk?

| ![]() Okay I just put a hole in one of the new nipples. How do I know if its too big or too small. I put milk in the bottle and turned it upside down and no milk drips out, is that too small of a hole. When I put water in it, it drips out slowly. I know the milk is thicker, so should it drip out slowly with the milk in it?

I didn't give my pups their first shots until 8 weeks of age. 8, 12 and 16 weeks. However, that is why I asked you to see about the colestrum, that is unless the milk you're feeding has it in it. Colestrum is what gives the puppies antibodies.

Isn't this hand raising fun? Next 3 weeks you'll be walking around like a zombie. Things will get better as he takes more and more and the feeding times begin to spread.

How will I know when he can go longer without eating, I'm doing every 3 hours now and sometimes when I try to feed him at his 1 a.m. feeding he pulls away he doesn't want it. Does this mean I can go to every 4 hours now? Oh wow you did a whole litter, I think one is too much! Hats off to you..

Yep! A whole litter, and taking care of their mother too. Without the help of my husband, who did the night feeding, he's a night owl, I don't know if I'd have made it. Here's what my vet told me. Don't wake him up just to feed him. He'll tell you when he's hungry. Just like a baby. He'll begin to take more and more and sleep longer and longer. Before you know it, he'll be doing 6 hours and then 8......yeah! sleep time for you. Just make sure he's warm and comfortable. You don't have to diaper him everytime, about 4 to 6 hours.
