So who is to say none of your dogs carry the gene? The only way to find out quickly would be to breed them to one who does. Or possibly someone with a good understanding of genetics could tell you. I know for a fact that a breeder of champion Yorkshire terriers had white pups come from one of there champion dogs just last year.

| I have a good understanding of genetics--studied quite thoroughly BEFORE breeding. I don't need anyone to tell me, thanks just the same. The way to find out would be to study their lines, and work with thier breeders in depth, which I did. They have the same possibilty of carrying it as any other Yorkie in existance. But I don't breed to produce off-colored off spring, so it's really irrelevant. |

| But WHAT are you testing is my question!? You say you verify it by testing--WHAT test are you performing that give you these results? DNA to prove that the dam and sire are who they claim to be does NOT prove that the dogs are purebred, it just proves who the parents are. |

Thank you, that is exactly what is says. I personally feel that if you are intending to use a dog for stud testing right away before breeding is best.

| Your babies are cute...but I wouldn't pay no more than I would a standard yorkie....Their coat is not to my liking...but I must say they are cutie pies and whoever wants to spend the money...thats their problem...I just wouldn't. I also know my babies now aren't breed standard....I love the Biewer / Parti look and would love to own one in the future but if I'm going to pay lots of money for one I would want one with a full beautiful coat & teddy bear face. Sort of like this little gal I inquired about a while ago. She's got the look I am looking for...very cute small ears too. Good luck! BTW...I love Mr. Peanuts face! |

BANNED! | Oh by the way I have been told by several reputable show breeders that Parti Yorkie's are being registered by AKC now as Parti Terrier's. Apparently AKC removed the Yorkie name from them. What do your papers say?? As I am really curious now?? Last edited by tiggerr36792; 09-16-2008 at 10:55 AM. |

| That's pretty sad to hear, because these reputable breeders (of traditional colors I'm guessing) are incorrect.

I expect the price to come down in the future to the price of other yorkies as more and more people are breeding them.

Also, back to my other question that you have not answered? WHAT tests exactly are you having done that prove the dogs are purebred? I was not aware that AKC performed this test. Per your site, AKC backed DNA test, but those only prove parentage, they do not validate that the dog is purebred.
