Jenn, I'm so sorry to read that you lost one. You must be completely drained. Hopefully, the others make it. You have my prayers. |
I am so sorry for the loss of one of the babies. It is so sad and heartbreaking when this happens. I'll keep you and the 3 remaining puppies in my prayers that they begin to thrive. |
I have never had premature puppies, but I found a few website that "MAY" help you out! I will be praying for your babies. prembabies Premature Puppy Things That You Should Know About Premature Puppy Care | Pet Savvy |
Thanks everyone. Another passed away. Chloe has pushed a third to the side - its the weakest one. I gotta clean in there though because the warmth is starting to make things smell not so great....... |
I am so sorry to hear about your losses. It must be extremely hard to watch. Praying for a miracle for at least one of those precious little ones. Blessings to you and them!!! |

So Sorry I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a baby, and to lose more than one must be even more devestating. I wish you luck in the survial of the remaining 2. Do not give up, you might just get a miracle... |
Thanks for posting those links for premie puppies. I learned one thing and that was the only give 50% milk and 50% water when feeding a premie. I totally forgot that :( Also a humidifier would be a good idea to have some humidity in that room since their skin gets dry fast. I feel so terrible for Jenn ,Chloe and her puppies of course .I hope the vet can give her other tips that werent mentioned here. She is deffinately exhausted and drained from this whole day . i am so sorry for your lost...puppies born before 57 days are hard to keep alive...sending tons of prayers and hugs your way! |
Im just now reading this thread. Those babies do look very premature , I wonder what caused her to have them early. Im so sorry hun, They looked like would of been very healthy pups if born at the right time. Im praying that the other one makes it. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I am sending prayers and hugs your way that the other 2 will make it. You are doing great. Hang in there. |
I have been following this thread since the beginning and I am so very sorry you lost two of the pups. I am praying hard for the remaining two |
Good morning, just checking on the moms and the babies,..grandma and grandpa. |
I'm So Sorry Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping all is well with everyone. |
Chloe and pups Anyone hear how they are doing this am? |
Keeping you in my thoughts and checking back all the time for updates. I really hope the last 2 survive, just hang in there, you never know. We are all with you. On another note, I am shocked how much a difference 3 days can make, Alfie was born on day 58. Just goes to show the hardships and miracles of breeding. |
I've been following this thread like crazy, I feel so bad! Did the other two puppies make it through the night?? |

55 days That is a big difference. Consider that they are conceived and born between 58 -63 days. Most of mine are born around 63 days, in most books it will tell you that pups born before day 58 have huge mortality rate. I had one litter many years ago that were born on day 54. Actually thinking back too, it was my first litter. 2 did survive but the vet never thought they'd make it. Nearly lost the mom too. Its not as easy breeding and raising these pups as some think. |
pups Do not blame yourself in anyway, you are doing all humanly possible...as with human babies who are born too soon, the lungs are not developed enough to function outside the womb... Teri Shumsky, one of the backbones of the breed had a small incubator made for early puppies...so it is really all about the lungs at this point. If the other two are being fed and stay warm, they may have better lung function and can pull through..wishing you luck. PS..and people fuss and grumble about the price of puppies!! |

I hope Jenn has gotten some help today and the two pupppies are still fighting to survive. |
prices etc People sometimes have no idea what breeders go through to raise these pups, how about the many sleepless nights of bottle feeding or tube feeding every 2 hrs when you have tiny ones, or preemies? How about a c-section, in this area they run over $1000. There are lots of things to consider in becoming a breeder. |
Wow sorry about the loss. I hope the other pups are doing ok. Good luck with the tube feeding. |
Checking in on Chloe and the pups. I quess no news is good news. I am continuing to pray |
