| Puppies not selling Hi I have been breeding about 2 or 3 litters a year of my Champion Sired females and have always sold my babies within a few weeks of birth. This is the first time in over 25 years that I still have puppies which will be 3 months old. There are so many people out there selling puppies you don't no what you are getting anymore. They are treating these babies like livestock for goodness sake. Last edited by Nikis2; 06-21-2008 at 01:45 PM. |

| Hi! Welcome to YT. I agree with what you said. I am sorry your pups are not selling as fast. Do you think just the economy itself could be affecting this also. I think I have heard or seen that some of the sellers on here saying something similiar about taking longer to sell pups/dogs. I know the mortgage crisis has caused many to put their dogs in rescues or sadly just abandon them.

| I am a dog owner not a breeder but I really think its the economy. We bought our 2 yorkies 3 yrs ago. I dont know if I would buy them if it was now. The prices of grocerys, utilities, and gas has risen. There just seems to be alot less disposable income

| Welcome to YT I'd love to see pics of your babies when you have a chance I know one thing, if I was to purchase my babies today, I wouldn't be able to The economy has been not-so-kind to us. Perhaps you might have to advertise more?

| Everyone says its the economy but if you pick up a newspaper now a days there are 10 ads in the paper all saying the same thing. I no its the economy and people just don't want to drive anymore. But, I no the Amish and all these puppy mills opening up is really affecting the market too. Most people seem to buy pets on impulse not by researching the breed and than finding a reputable breeder. I no I have had at least 1 call a week for someone that doesn't want there pet anymore and wants me to take it in and find a home. |

| I guess you'll just have to give them all to me I have to agree with what everyone else said about the economy. I guess when people have to make a choice between groceries and buying a puppy.... I wish you much luck in finding good forever homes for your babies.

We adopted Daisy from a nice family who couldn't keep her and I know it will forever effect her. She's very attached to us, but so scared that I'll leave her. It makes it hard to even leave her at the groomers. I know she's worried the whole time I'm gone.

| I'm looking for a yorkie to add to my family, but can't find one I can afford the purchase fee for! I just found one on craigslist that I'm hoping I can get...but it's probably already gone!!!! I live in NC. I absolutely think it's the economy AND the fact that you have so many "hobby breeders" and byb's nowadays that the competition is just to much! I'm sorry to hear you are so negatively affected. I'm actually surprised you have any puppies left!! Do you have a website? Photos? I'd love to see them! |

| Yes, it is the economy. Gasoline prices are nearly $5.00 a gallon right now, and Bills are sky rocketing. It is summer time, and people are taking vactions too. Yorkies are noritiously expensive. I hope you are able to find great homes for your little Yorkie babies. My Suzi will be 15 weeks old on Monday. I was very lucky to find a good breeder that was not too far away, and whose prices were that I could afford.

| I have posted some pictures on the site. I just haven't figured my way around the full site yet. You are so right you really have to watch who you sell to. I have a claus in my contract that if you can not for any reason keep one of my babies you have to bring it back. I get more calls from people that are just trying to buy up good stock to put in their own lines. I could not imagine one of my babies locked up in a cage onaly used for making money. How sad. |
