Another Sad Story to share

Unfortunatley I'd probably do the same thing just to get that pup away from that way of living though. My heart is too big and I'd have to save her. I know I can't save them all but I'd do whatever I could to save as many as I could no matter what. Thats just the way I am and always will be. Those poor babies didn't ask to be born, they deserve a good life too.

I agree though, I'd keep your babies away from the new baby. I wouldn't risk it. What did the vet say????

Well I would never have bought a dog from a place that smelled but it doesn't really matter if it is a place that doesn't smell either...there could still be problems. I got Teddi from a place that was so clean and nice but she still ended up having a liver shunt so you really never know.

I really do hope your friend doesn't have to learn the hard way about these kinds of people... Hopefully she baby will turn around and live a long happy life

It breaks my heart when people buy from places like that. One of Humane Society's rules in buying a puppy it to avoid the temptation to "rescue" a puppy by buying him. Even though your intentions may be good, don't buy a puppy with the idea that you are "rescuing" him or her. Your "rescue" opens up space for another poor puppy and puts money into the pockets of the poor breeders; you are only reinforcing their poor breeding conditions. Alert your local animal control authorities instead of buying.

then she tells us that she has a 7 yr old yorkie who has not been able to give her puppies and the woman says" I THINK I WILL JUST HAVE HER PUT DOWN!) as soon as she said it, she knew she messed up and hurried and took it back!

WHY? why why why are people like this allowed to have dogs????

So the phone rings while were at the ladies house and it's someone "supposedly" calling about her puppies. Get's off the phone and says "yeah, someone is coming tomorrow to look at her" of course someone is coming tomorrow to look at her! So she buys her.

says she was weined at 4 weeks old! (my mouth dropped to the ground when I heard this, she says the mom stopped on her own, yeah right!)

says she is 1.5 #'s (she's not)

has a green discharge in corner of eyes. but she STILL bought her! Her words were, I have to save her from this place. OMG!

guess where she is now? Yup, in the vet, took her last night cause she was lifeless.

So guess who is taking care of her tomorrow cause she (my friend) is not going to be home? YUP, me!

WHY WON'T PEOPLE LISTEN WHEN YOU TRY TO TELL THEM SOMETHING?

i went to a breeder like that in indiana not long ago do you know the ladies name of course i did not buy

I would have bought the puppy too because I too will never be able to walk away without the pup after looking at the bad condition It is very heartbreaking though.

I just got back from the hotel where I went for a overnighter with my girl scout troop.

I was suppose to puppy sit for Daphne today, but when I got home and called Carrie, she was in tears. Daphne is back at the vets, she was having seziers and started foaming at the mouth. I'm waiting on a phone call with updates.

This is just so sad. One of the things I've learned is to have many phone conversations first, you can learn a lot about a breeder over the phone. Once you see the puppy, it's probably very difficult to walk away. I hope you or your friend reports this place to the authorities.

It's crazy, she has a friend like you, who could have helped her in so many ways in this purchase, and she chose to ignore your advice.

OMG! This is just so very sad. I feel so bad for that poor little baby, having to start it's life out so badly. I sure hope that she will be okay and I will keep my fingers crossed and say some prayers. I'm sure you will keep us posted.
It really sounds to me like this lady needs to be reported and shut down. I wish you great success with that end of this story as well.
Why oh why could your friend not listen to your advice....or better yet, wait and get a puppy from you; someone she knows and trusts?

oh wow. i am so sorry the puppy isnt doing well and seizing. thats just heartbreaking. if i were you id call the humane society-this backyard breeder needs to be stopped. i just hate to see ppl abusing and neglecting animals-they dont ask for it!

please report her or have your friend do it.. or call the police and talk to animal control. i just couldnt sit by and do nothing-it would eat at me. i am praying for the pup and hoping he pulls through...

She thought she was going to walk out with a "good deal" but what she walked out with was a night mare.

She could have probably saved money in the long run if she would just have waited for a pup from Baby Bear, but she did't want to wait till September.

Better yet, adopted a rescue.

Some people have to learn the hard way. I do pray she makes it.

Ohh I won't just sit back and watch this lady screw other people!

I'm friends with the person who runs our animal shelter, I will be talking with her soon.

Carrie just called me. Vet says she has to stay till at least Monday. She is hypoglycemic, that's why she was seizing. I told her she needed to get some nutri-cal or even give her honey.

Hopefully staying at the vets all weekend, they can get her on the right track!

This is all so sad. Your friend will end up with an expensive puppy after all. I really worry about vets keeping little tiny puppies over the weekend. Do you think someone will be there to watch her? Hopefully she is in good hands. I will sure be praying for her.

well I do no that when he kept her over night the last time, he stayed with her all night. He is a wonderful vet, he is the same one I use and I just love him, he really loves and cares for the animals so let's hope he is with her.
