| She advertises in Dog Fancy. The best breeders don't advertise like that. I didn't know any better when we got Loki. Loki was supposed to be 7 lbs and he is 12 lbs. He was bred in Iowa and she did not have his parents on site (either of them) and would/could not show me pictures. Loki has a genetic disease called diabetes insipidus and he is on medicine that is $130 a month and he still has problems. I love him. He's super smart. He also has some serious social issues with other dogs because he was taken from mom so early. He did tons of training with me and he is better, but still afraid of his own shadow. I'd never buy another puppy from her. I've gone through his entire story on here (check the Great Lakes section) and I'd rather not go through it again. It's hard to find good breeders in Chicago but they do exist. Good luck.

| Susan from Stardust has been breeding for probably 30 years. I dont know how reputable she is but she has very nice champion lines and champion sired puppies. She has shown quite a few to their championships also. I dont know about her health guarantees or know her personally. |

| I read your story, but I have also read probably 10 others that say she is the best. I think every breeder will have one or two puppies that may not be perfect, but I also don't want to go to a bad breeder. |

| If you ignore my specific story you still have the fact that the dogs are bred in Iowa and packed up and brought to IL to sell before 12 weeks (probably 8 I can't remember). She does not have the parents on site or pictures. She advertises in magazines, which means she has to produce enough puppies to supply that demand. That isn't bettering the breed, IMO. Loki doesn't have champions in his pedigree until several generations back, so they are not all champion puppies. Of course, she pointed out all of the champions when we bought him. I must have had "gullible" stamped on my head when we went there...

And, my experience has been "show people" sell to pet people quite often, if the breeders criteria for a pet home are met.

| Just from my conversation with her, she said she WOULD not let a dog go home before 3 months and she told us we can come and see the parents. So I don't know if she is lying, but she sounds good to me. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | In fairness to Stardust Yorkies, She does have a person breeding some of her puppies in Iowa, but she sells them all here. She also breeds in her own home and several of the puppies she has now were bred in her home. I have 2 from Susan, Pixie who was bred in Susan's home and Roxie who was bred in Iowa. Susan is upfront about the puppies born in Iowa as the person in Iowa is on the AKC papers. When I got Dixie from her,who was bred in her home, it turned out she tagically had cingenital kidney failure and passed on at 7 months. Susan felt as bad as I did and would never had sold her if she knew, She "replaced" her for lack of a better word and compensated me as well. My husband calls Pixie his Perfect Pixie and wanted another just like her. Roxie is leggy and Susan told me that but she has a pretty face and a super temperment. She is feisty and a love bug. Pixie is a little more fearful of new experiences but I do not take my dogs out much other than in the yard or for walks in the stroller, but she is the mother dog here who makes sure I know when one of the other dogs needs something. She even won over my grouchy 11 year old pom.I think any breeder who has been breeding for that long is going to have an issue here or there and it is how they respond to it. This is just my opinion and experience. If I had had a bad experience my opinion would be different. So I respect everyones opinion. Keep us posted.

| In my opinion, Stardust is reputable... I also think that not every dogs will turn out the champion quality or perfect dogs without any illness.... It seems that she has variety of yorkies with differences.. ... I would definitely consider getting a yorkie from her next time. My Haruka is partly stardust line... that is what i was told.
