YT 500 Club Member | Oprah did a wonderful job bringing the truth of puppy mills out. I feel so sad for all of those babies who are still there and still having to suffer every single day. If I had my own plave and the money I would try to rescue as many babies that I could rescue. I hope viewers all around will make better and wiser diecisions now.

| I watched it and I think she did a good job. And who could not like Bill, he really has a big heart. I do wish they would have pointed out the USDA grants that the Hunte Corp has been given the public should know. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

| I watched the show and thought it was pretty good. They even had a segment about Puppymills on the 5 clock news as well. I hope it reaches a lot of people and that the pet stores and puppymills lose business. I do wish they would have gave out a little more information on finding a reputable breeder and what to look for but I guess you only have so much time to get in as much as you can. It was so sad watching those dogs being euthanized and then thrown away like garbage, I could never in a million years do that.

| I just watched it too.... It was pretty good.... I just know where we live the local" Dog Pound" is a KILL SHELTER, and frankly I Believe would rather KILL the dogs than place them......I guess the way I view it is....if you pay for the spay/neuter...then unless your into some risky business you should be able to adopt as many dogs as you want...if you have the means that is....but, politics, and favoritism seems to rear its ugly head at this shelter.......it makes me sick.... When they don't bat an eye to kill a dog, but will turn away a good home....for politics... I believe in Rescues to the utmost....I am totally in support of allowing these groups to find the most suitable home for a dog. Although, it is very difficult to qualify, and sometimes a pain....all in all....I hope this process is as good as I think it is in my mind.....I have helped several dogs get to the proper rescue from our local pound....at my own expense mind you..... |

| I watched this with my dogs all piled in my bed and I couldn't imagine them locked in a cage for their ENTIRE life... It broke my heart into pieces to see them put the dogs down I'm not an Oprah fan, but watched because I saw the link here... I hope her influence moves the masses to action. Wouldn't it be great if we could just stop puppymills dead in their tracks. Go Oprah!

| The Humane Society in my county - and just down the road from me - is a No kill pound. Also the one in the next county. I though about volunteering there this summer, but worry I might bring something home to my babies. T. |

| I watched it through streams of tears...no matter how much I see this, hear about this...it just makes my heart scream in pain! I think she did a great job with the show and am happy that reputable breeders were addressed. If every person that went to the mall to pick out their new puppy did it at a shelter...oh the powerful change that could have on the dogs of America! Our local mall does not have a pet store...instead the local shelter brings dogs/puppies/cats and kittens in Fri-Sun for adoption! The mall has graciously donated the space...I really commend them for that. They also sell some pet related items in there and the profits go to the shelter. I stop in when I can and have picked up a few things!

| I didn't watch the show but from what's being said...I'm glad they have outed the Amish! I have known for years that the Amish were some of the biggest offenders where animal rights are concerned and some of the biggest puppy millers around. But, whenever I would say it people thought I was nuts...I'm glad it's out now! Last edited by my2boyz; 04-04-2008 at 04:06 PM. |

| There is hope!!!!! I think her show was great! I think she was fair and informative. I only wish she would have mentioned that the U.S.D.A. is responsible for encouraging breeding in our rural areas. This was done during the depression so that poor agricultural states had a way to make a living. I am not saying that all breeders that are U.S.D.A. are Puppy Mills but at least it is a red flag to really investigate if you are a potential buyer. You must be U.S.D.A. certified to sell to brokers/pet stores. The saddest part for me is that I will go to sleep tonight in my warm bed with no worries along with my husband, four skin kids/3 fur kids and right down the highway is the Fort Worth Animal Control....in the morning all of the E's will be put down. I will pray for those precious babies tonight!
