ME TOO I'm very grateful !!!!!!!
I've only been breeding about 4 years now.
And I dont have but 3 breeding females
But theres always new things we need to learn.

Yes he has, he's been fighting every step of the way though...he's a strong little guy. He now has enough fight to try and push away the tube when it's time to feed...haha

I wondered though...my mentor mentioned that since he was born with the placenta around his neck and fluid in his lungs that he may not have had enough oxygen to his brain, and he may have brain damage as a result. Do you think that's a possibility? What would be an initial sign that he may have a problem?

oh my I didnt know this, perhaps, does he still have fluid on the lungs if so has the vet given you amoxy to help this??

No, he does not anymore, and yes he is on amox. I think we're in the clear with that part, but I'm just afraid he may have suffered brain damage as a result. Let me go find the post where I talked about it...

I always give benebac to the new borns. Rini told me to do this a very long time ago and I have on every litter since.

Ruby Update
 
Ruby's vet says she saw 5 in the xray, and we saw 5 little heartbeats on the ultrasound. So I'm assuming no surprises. She still has 6 days to go. I hope she makes it.

Update on Lilly
 
Her temp dipped a little from 100.1 to 98.4 (but she has dropped before) :rolleyes: I am very glad that my vet has weekend hours :D I have a laptop in my bedroom... so I will let you guys know the minute something starts!

I just got home .. Had to leave because of several tornado warnings coming right at us...So headed to my daughters who has a basement.
This was the first time was afraid enough to leave my house in 4 years!!!!
But everything blew over. Thank goodness

Any thing happening? Ill be up for an hour or so yet.

Here are some pics of the tiny fighter, his name is Aidyn (means "little fire"). Look at this tummy after nursing!! :D

I'm so proud of him, he's not giving up a bit. I think there's a good chance this little guy will be staying with mommy forever...:rolleyes: ;) :D

Oh my goodness... so glad you are okay! I saw the storms on the news... they were the same storms that dumped snow on us :rolleyes:

Lilly is doing fine... no change!

Debbi, when you have to leave what do you do with all your animals? I assume the dogs go with you, but what about the goats? Glad you are all right and that Nala is hanging in there.

Ruby was just sleeping on the couch and was dreaming. Her legs were flailing and she was whimpering. At first I thought she was in labor or in distress, then I saw her eyes were closed. She was really into it, and it took a few minutes for her breathing to settle down again. I'd love to know what she was dreaming about -- hopefully NOT this impending birth!

Does anyone have experience with early births? Ours have always been on the 62nd to 64th day. How soon is "too soon"? Or how late does it have to be so it isn't too soon? Anyone?

Someone probably has a better answer than me, but I've always heard 57-59 days would be the earliest it would be safe.
