| ![]() I have a gift...I can produce a quality Yorkie I am proud to show off...but it has drained every bit of energy from me at times, broken my heart, produced buckets of tears..so I advise anyone to do it to the best of their ability, ethcially, with pride, taking no short cuts, do what is best for the dog..the care and comfort of the dog always comes first...nothing is too good for a brood bitch. When I see photo's and TV stories about puppymills, the faces of the bitches just about kill me...there has to be a special place in Hell for these heartless people...and all these dear dogs will surely have a peaceful after life...where ever the dogs go, I would like to go also... |

| ![]() There's a very nice article on this very subject in the August 2007 issue of Dog World Magazine by Carolyn Coile, PhD. As many of you know, Dr. Coile is a well published authority on dogs, herself being a breeder and handler. Her opinion is that responsible breeders should be selling their puppies for enough to make a profit, and that it should not be considered a negative thing for them to do so. BTW, she acknowledges in the article that breeders do not necessarily have to be exhibitors to fall into the "responsible" category. They just have to be responsible in their breeding practices. She closes the article with "There is a place for responsible breeders of good, healthy, well-socialized pets, and there's no reason that breeders who produce these dogs should not be fairly, and even profitably, compensated for providing them. In the long run, such breeders could be our best tool in the fight against puppy mills." |

it breaks my heart too there are some many very heartless breeders out there breeding these bitches till they stand no more litter after litter. THESE GIRLS ARE NOTHING BUT SLAVES to there owner!!! Have they no campassion!!!So when the subject comes up breeding for profit it makes me cringe as it makes me think of slavery. The people who do this need to go and watch a female being spayed and look at her uterus(spelling?)it would break anyones heart!!! my vet has told me so many storiess and how sad it is. So lets get real about breeding for profit. I won't say no more as I get my stomach tangle up in knots.Kathy

| ![]() I don't read the replies of certain people either, especially if they get sarcastic. Everyone is going to see things a bit differently and that's okay but you can disagree respectfully. Sarcasm gets my grain up because it comes off as hateful to me and there's just no reason to be hateful. I usually drop out if it gets nasty but if I do post I try to be careful with my wording. Sometimes it's hard cause you just want to slap someone for coming off so hatefully. I try to remember that it's harder to judge someone's true intent when you can't see their expressions or body language. As far as a profit goes, I have a llitter due the end of the month that will hopefully make me a profit. It won't last long though as I will sink it back into showing. Showing is for business but it also for my personal enjoyment so I don't feel too bad. I get to go out to dinner with my show friends so I get benefit from it all.

I try to respond with tactfullness but sometimes I know some take it as rude but I can't really help how they interput my typing unfortunately. There are a couple that I try and ignore because they have nothing positive to say. I may not agree with a lot of people but I would never personally attack someone just because they disagree with how I do things or my opinions. I do not attack anyone in person nor on a forum it's not my style ![]()

| ![]() Dudley probably got suspended or banned (haven't looked to see which one) for telling everyone who had a differing opinion to "get a life". Hha left YT on her own, and her name is Sherrie.
