| ![]() She probably seems hungry all the time because she wasn't being fed well enough before you got her. I wouldn't limit her food or change to another, just she probably would benefit from vitamins, too. You do need a separate area for whelping and to use as a nursery. Try not to get too far ahead of yourself at this point. Mom's health and nutrition are your most immediate concerns. I really feel inadequate to answer all your questions but do your research and many of them will be answered by going that route. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() With her being so hungry all the time yet so unhealthy, its always possible, if the environment there was so awful, that she has parasites. Is there a safe way to deworm a pregnant dog? I have never had to deal with that before, even in the vets office.

| ![]() pups do not show up in an xray this early...so either your vet has no idea what he is doing or this thread is pulling our leg... pups do not show up in an xray before 52 days in most cases and if she is due late april early may...NO skelton would be visable 30 days into the pregnancy.

![]() I even highlighted it in red. And I too know it is impossible to see. My question is. "IF"...in fact the vet did do the xray Can it somehow damage or deform puppies this early in the bitches gestation?

| ![]() nah an xray wouldnt harm them nor the mom, also there is no way that vet would have given a puppy count from an xray...the xray at 30-40 days gestation would be blank!

| ![]() I would call your vet again and ask him to clarify. If he saw puppies on an x-ray, she would have to be due around the beginning of April. Ask him to tell you exactly what he saw and if he saw SKELTONS. If he did, you need to get ready for puppies VERY soon.

Thats a thought... But you would think the vet would put it closer then April or May. That he'd know they wouldnt even show up unless shes very close to whelping. Confused here... ![]() I'd call your vet back too and get prepared. EmrldShdwQueen and I both have litters due April 3

| ![]() If this vet saw puppies on this dogs xrays then those pups are due long before the date he is giving you...Did you see the xrays?...What was the reason for the lethargy?...Has a stool sample been taken?...Has bloodwork been done?...Hmmm I would question alot here! ~Laura

| ![]() i was reading the posts, and I called my vet. I thought at first he said April/May. He clarified it to me and said, April. But he doesn't know the exact date. Her stomach is big but not huge.
