| Aside from gathering supplies, you need to know what to look for to signify labor. Get a digital thermometer. Take Temp same time of day, (anal with vaseline or ky jelly), as it gets closer 2 times a day) should be 99-100.5 or so. When she drops significantly into the lower 98 degrees, it will be around 12-18 hours, possibly 24. But you shouldn't leave her. She'll began to get restless and may try to hide under beds or couches. This is why you'll need to have a whelping box (I have one inside of an expen). You wouldn't want her having babies under the bed. As it gets closer, she'll pant more profusely(she'll also pant during the last couple of weeks) and will violently start digging into the sheets, carpet or wherever. That's called nesting. After that it won't be long.... |
