![]() Giving the female Nutri-cal during delivery just helps keep her energy level up and I feel it helps stimulate the contractions. You can offer her a little Karo syrup and water.

![]() Do you have a heating pad for the pups to make sure they are staying warm. Pups need warmth because if they become chilled they will not make it. How do you have your whelping area set up? You may need to hold the puppy up to the teat until the puppy gets the hang of nursing. Feel inside the pups mouth to see if it feels cold, if it does get a wash cloth and put washcloth in microwave to warm it, then take it out and wrap the washcloth around the pup to warm it up. then try letting it nurse after it has warmed up. Do you have any pet nutri drops? If you do put just a tiny tiny tiny bit on the tip of your finger and dab that onto the roof of the pups mouth or on the tongue. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies

![]() It is not always easy when they get down to the last one. I always watch closely for an hour after I think she has delivered the last puppy. If she quits having hard contractions then she will most likely be done. Her uterus will still feel hard when she is contracting and it will feel like the size of one puppy but that is normal. In between contractions you should not feel anything hard in her belly. She will continue to have lighter contractions as she tries to expel afterbirth.

You need to get those babies on a heating pad "on low wrapped once with a towel under the whelping bed", keep your room warm, the pups and mom confined into a small area...if you have vanilla ice cream you can give mom a tablespoon of that during whelping to energize her. After whelp feed her dry puppy food mixed with a quality wet puppy food to intice her to eat, usually their famished after whelp...and plenty of water.. congrats on the kids

![]() She has had 6 pups, we called the local vet to make sure all her signs were normal, I will be running up to Petsmart shortly to grab some nutri-drops. She's tending to all her pups and licking them one by one, they are all moving and whining around. She is producing milk and we are waiting to see if she nurses fine, we have tried helping the pups find the nipples by drawin a lil milk and putting their mouths to it, no luck. I am givin her a few minutes to see if she can get them to latch. How long before I start bottle feeding if they do not latch? I am sorta thinking she might have a 7th by now I'm stressed out but keeping calm.
