No, most of the Biewers black actually turns to blue, just like the Yorkie blue.. some stays black. I have 8 Biewers, while they all start out black as babies, only 1 of the 8 has stayed black on the back, the rest have turned to the steel blue. It usually changes color by 2 years of age.

The standard calls for black.


For the record...the standard also calls for black noses and lips...not brown such as some of the ads mentioned on puppyfind.

Deb, actually the standard says blue or black but your sooo right, NO brown and yes black noses, lips and eyerims.

The pedigrees say blau-wies-gold in German (blue/white/gold) they use that "B" that I don't know how to use, sorry)

No problem Deb.. how's that sweet little Frazier getting along with his big brothers? Val certainly has some of the most wonderful little Biewers doesn't she.. you must be tickled pink!! (see, more colors teehee)

And the mask on the face turns tan? or Stays black?

The white stays white, the Black turns blue (even on the ones where the backs stay black, the faces usually fade a bit) and the gold stays gold but tends to wash out. The faces tend to not be as dramatic as when they were younger but still must have the three distinct colors..

The black or blue does not turn gold, they are born with gold.

Your babies are pretty. How much does the 1st and 3rd one weigh? Those 2 look a lot alike. Also, how old are they?

Thank you.. do you mean from the Left? The first one from the left I believe weighs about 4.5 lbs, she is no longer mine but she is the daughter of the 3rd one from the left, who is my Cleopatra. Cleo was born in January, 2004 and weighs about 5.5 - 6 lbs.. she is a very sturdy girl and a real gem. She is in my avitar.

Ahh, then, that's why they look alike. I can't wait for mine to get her long hair. I was talking about from the left to right, with me looking at them. Mine is almost 8 mos and weighs 2 lbs 5 oz
you can go to Biewer Terrier Club of America, Inc. and go down to the bottom, the zoo tube was her at 3 mos and then right below that her at 7 mos

if we can get to NYC for a play the kids will bring us up with the Frakenstickle could even bring Ice along..

heck any of you that want to go see some awesome Biewers go to the speciality show in Reading PA and you can meet them and meet some truly awesome people :) learn more about them :)

So come all to Reading PA and meet some Biewers and support them it will be a grand time
