| I work full time and have for most of my breeding career (24 years) When I have started a new job, I let them know up front that either my girls come with me to work when they are due or I stay home. All of my girls have either been shown or traveled to shows so are used to riding in the car and seeing new people. I set up a crate in my cubicle and bring my whelping supplies. If I am away from my desk, my assistant watches the girls until I get back and pages me if there is a need. I have had several litters over the years while at work with no complaints from coworkers or employer. When the puppies are little, I bring mom and puppies to work each day until I am sure that they can be left at home. I then just go home for lunch to let mom out and check on the babies. So far, I haven't had any problems with the moms or the babies. I have also found that puppies that go to work with my when they are very young are never car sick later in life. May be a coincidence but who knows! I will be on puppy watch starting the 14th and already have coworkers asking when the mom -to- be will be coming!!! Hopefully, you can work out a doable situation. Best of luck. Charlie |

| I don't work full time..I stay at home, but I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 16 month old...so my hands are really full!!! But, my pups haven't had babies yet so I don't know how that is yet. But, it sounds like to me that you have help and a good job so that you can take her with you. That is really different than an office job!!! Good luck! |

| This may sound silly since my little Fancy just had her first puppy , but she doesn't want to be alone. In fact, she has the puppy in her bed up on the couch right now, and she gets upset if I leave the room. My husband says that it's because I baby her too much, but then again that's what she is, my baby.I honestly don't think she would have eaten afterwards either if I wasn't there to give it to her. I was happy to see that she actually ate her hard dog food today, but then again it was out of my hand. Plus, I also have been giving her the whelping pudding every 2 hours which I couldn't do if I wasn't home. I just know that I would have been scared to death if I wasn't home with her. Jeanie |

Where is it that you work that you are able to not only bring your girls to work with you, but also have them whelp there. I want to get a job there. That is awesome!I work full time with a very flexible job position/department. So when I (my girl) had her first litter last year it was known that I would be home when she had her puppies and at least a weeks vacation after. As it turned out, I took the first week after off and my hubby stayed home the next week.

| Everyone that recently posted, please read up. Nicki has explained that she didn't make that thread. Someone else used her computer. It wasn't her that asked that question. She wanted this thread to be close/deleted, but Admin cannot delete it. PLEASE READ POST #35 for Nicki's explanation. Thanks!

This IS the same lady who cut Tucker's hair. She was at my house back then when this thread was made and she was looking through YT on my computer. I always keep my screenname up, I never logout, so she decided that she would ask a question on the breeding thread under my name (when I wasn't in the room). She used the NAMES of my dogs because she wanted everyone here to think it was me (because she didn't want to say: "i'm a friend posting under this screen name" blah blah blah...and probably also because she wanted me to take the blame if there was any heat over the thread ), but she was REALLY talking about her dogs: Jasmine and Nala and her situation with her jobs. She ended up selling Nala because she didn't like her temperament, and Jasmine is the girl who is 10 lbs (that I talked about the in thread where she cut Tuck's hair). We were in similar situations with the mentor thing, except hers was just somebody (not reputable) that she talked to on the phone and who sold her a couple adults. Mine is someone wonderful whom I've gotten to know and who sold me healthy standard size adults. She basically got all her ideas from me...but went about them in a quick way. She's actually on YT now, but I won't say who....not many posts. Anyways...see how confusing? lol | |

| [quote=CoCo Puff Stuff;1823321] That's ok, you don't have to believe me. See that's why it pissed me off so much initially...because I knew that since she had used the names of MY dogs that people would be confused when I explained. If it HAD been me posting this question I would've just said so...if you know me well you know that I'm one of the most honest people you'll ever meet. |

| OMG... I didn't even noticed the orginal post date was back in November. No wonder... it's not making sense now. Now it sounds confusing.... Why would she ask about 3 females if she only had 2 at the time? ![]() ![]()
