I am home all day, I have 2 young kids,and I just had my litter, and believe me ,it is hard, you need to watch them, you need to check the pop, if they are eating well, they will cry, (1 of mine will cry at nigth and then being sleepy next morning ). You need to make sure they are OK> If you want to be a good breeder, don't do it.They were like my kids, and I still cry for them. We already have bad experiences starting like that. I heard that is late now, but, reallllyyy watch them and stay home if you can. Good Luck!

I work full time and occasionally breed, but the place I work is very accomadating with my schedule, and even allows me to work from home when I have puppies. Also, my husband also shares time off from work for puppy watch. If I could not get the time off when I needed it I would not chance breeding. I have had 4 litters while working full time, but hopefully we (both hubby and I) will be retired before our next breeding. Unless your job can be flexable, I would not do it.

Hi. I was curious at what point you feel they can be left at home alone? What appx. age is that?

I work f/t and plan go breed maybe in a year and a half, I will be taking off a few weeks and am just curious when you feel it is safe to leave them home?

You know personally I'm more worried about them between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 weeks than I am before that...just because at that point they're climbing out the box, weaning, and discovering the world. Of course, if you have one that has to be tube-fed or something in the beginning it's a little different...but the litter I have now all eat well and are good weights. They're almost a week old.

I commute to work and am out of the house about 11 hours a day, but I pay people to took after the dogs when I'm not there, plus have an extensive security and monitoring system so that I can get live video of home from my office. It is all very stressful and expensive trying to hold this all together until I can retire and stay home...maybe next year? I have four litters right now and it's about killing me and my finances, and that's without any major health complications...Good luck !!!
