I tend to split training into two categories: trick training and "life skills" training. Tricks are cute, largely unecessary things your dog learns to do for food and for fun. Life skills translate into good manners and good sense. Life skills are also generally conceived as don'ts: Don't bark all the time, Don't beg for food, Don't eat disgusting garbage off the ground, etc.

To some degree this is a false distinction. For instance, Don't Eat Disgusting Garbage can be translated...

Loose front bottom teeth

My 7 year old female's front bottom teeth are loose. Her teeth are nice and white so I have never paid much attention to them but her breath is bad. Does she have disease?

I found out today that Jillie has LP in both knees. It was a shock because she hasn't shown any signs of pain or limited mobility. Her knees had been examined a couple times in the past, and no one noticed anything. This time, the vet felt it right away.

She didn't give me a Grade, but since she's had no outward signs or discomfort it's likely considered a Grade 1, though vet did say some dogs with knees like hers will already be in pain. She told me just to watch her, and we'll make...

So, my mother has battled cancer twice in her life and is in remission right now. I have always wanted to help raise money to fight cancer, but the opportunity just never presented itself.

As part of the Springfield RollerGirls, one of the things we are doing this year is participating in the American Cancer Society Making Strides walk to fight Breast cancer. I will be skating, and it is going to be a great day!
