Default revolution medication???

does anyone use revolution on their yorkies??

for some reason, i'm under the impression that it's not fully trusted yet even though haven't researched it or anything.... i think it's awesome that it claims to prevent fleas, ticks AND heartworm... because that way i wouldn't have to buy two separate medications! however, i want to make sure it's safe for Kash.

the reason i ask about revolution is not just because i don't want to administer two different meds... it's because it's really hard to get him to eat the chewable heartguard. the single doses are way too big so i have to break them up into like 20 tiny pieces! and then he doesn't like the taste or something... because he spits it out. if i leave him with the pieces in his food bowl all day, usually when i come home from work some of the pieces have been eaten, but then i usually have to mix the pieces with canned food to trick him into eating it. and i'm afraid to give him the pill-form because i don't know how good he is at taking pills (since i've never had to give him pills)... the vet recommended pill pockets, but the pill pockets are also pretty big.

i just feel that an "all-in-one" medication will be the easiest. and wanted to see if anyone else uses it, how well it works, and if there are any bad reactions to the medication. my vet doesn't even carry revolution for dogs... only cats. i'd have to get it elsewhere (like 1-800-Pet-Meds) and they need a prescription from my vet!

this revolution for dogs seems controversial...

I use it and haven't had any problems so far. I too liked the fact that I could get it all in one easy application

I've used Revolution with Ruby and experienced no problems. It's the only flea med her vet (at that time) would recommend because the mfgr offered it in a safer dosage for tiny dogs. I love the idea of combining the two meds; flea control and heartworm.

I've been trying to decide which method to use this year. Not wanting to use chemical flea control, I'm looking in to alternatives.

We use Revolution as well, and noticed NO effects from it. Never had a flea here either

I use Revolution on both of my yorkies, I haven't seen the first flea or tick. I get the vet to write me a prescription when I take them in for their yearly check-up. She gives me 4 refills. (There is 3 doses per pack) The vet tech at the vet office uses it also on his yorkies.

I use Revolution and have never had ticks or fleas. My vet test yearly for heartworms and I have never had a problem there either. He recommends revolution highly.

We use Revolution on our two and have never had a problem. Make sure if you get it from your vet that it's the right dosage. It goes by weight.

Animal Smiley 036 We use it

I currently have a package of Revolution ready for Pixel. She's my first Yorkie, but other members of my family have used Revolution for their dogs. Amber, a 9 year old Pomeranian, and Heidi, a 2 year old mini Dachshund, have never had any problems. I'm not worried about using it with Pixel.

I use revolution on Epsilon and my schnauzer. My mom also uses it on her two yorkies. It has worked great for us! I like how it's put on the skin instead of ingested. I get nervous that my dogs may throw up with out me realizing it and thus the medication not be in their system.

I use the revolution on all 3 of my Yorkies and I love that it comes in the right dosages for their sizes. I have yet to see a flea and every year when they get their heartworm test it always comes back good.

I use Revolution on my collie as they are sensitive to the heartworm meds and Revolution covers that. I don't remember why I don't use it for my yorkie, I think it only covers certain ticks. I could be wrong, I think it covers brown ticks and we have a lot of deer ticks around here so I think that's why.
