| Get some cowboy magic and start brushing, you are right your groomer will not want to comb out your dogs matts. It is going to take some time and in the end you will get them out or you will know how hard it is to get them out. If you have to resort to a groomer and she does get them out, you will need to give her a very big tip. Sometimes it is the nicest and most humane thing to do , just cut them off. When your dog is wearing clothes you must take them off every day and make sure you comb all the hair out to avoid the matts. Good luck!!! |

| Molly's hair matts in clothes too. I can keep them on for only a couple of hours then I have to brush her. Have you tried any of the clothes that have a silk lining? That is suppose to help but I have not tried them yet...

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Use a lot of cowboy magic and spend a little time frequently trying to work out the mats. When CAli had surgery and was wesring a onesie for a week she got so matted. I took her to a groomer who use to show Yorkies and told her I would pay whatever amount if she could get her unmatted, with the least amount of discomfort to Cali. She did a fantastic job and got her all dematted. She charged me 60.00 and I gave her a nice tip. Now I brush Cali every day.

| It all depends on the dog, some can mess their hair up in minutes. The trick is to cut the rubber band out never pull it out. Use a seam ripper or a small pair of scissors. Then put a touch of cowboy magic in the hair and brush gently. I would say to redo the topknot at least once a day , if you have a rubber you will need to do it more. Make sure after you have the band in that it is not to tight or uncomfortable for your dog. Good Luck!!! |

| Well I got alot of them out but not all of them. This is what I did. I shampooed her, then deep conditioned her with Aussies 3 minute miracle. Left it on three minutes then rinsed. Then I put her regular conditioner on and brushed and combed her hair through with the conditioner on. Then I rinsed and dried her with the towel then I put cowboy magic on her and brushed and combed again. I got out alot of them but there are some in her underneath hair that is still there. I am going to pay My groomer extra too get the rest out

| Shampooing with matts in, is never a good idea as the soap and water will set the matts in, not to mention that you can not rinse out the soap when the matts are still there. This can cause all kinds of skin problems. It is time for a pro. Do not wait to long, time is of the essence, if there is a chance of saving the coat. Owner Best Friends Pet Salon Salem Oregon |

| I just d matted Teddy last night took me 3 hours...My fault tho had alot of running to do and funerals to attend so I didn't brush like I should and also my hubby didn't help any by mulching our leaves in our fenced in back yard and of course I have 2 beautiful but rotten babies (Teddy and Tiffanie) who LOVES and I do mean LOVES to ROLL in those leaves...So that didn't help us any! Sir. Galahad thank goodness doesn't like them @ all! Well I have to say my Teddy is the 100% greatest dog for grooming a lady could ever ask for!! He just loves it matts and all, he lays there and just lets me go to town on them! Tickles me to death, if I stop he put his paws on my hand wanting me to comb/brush him more. I too tried the aussie before and I thought it didn't do a good job on teddy. I use the cowboy magic and do a little every now and then, give him a break and go @ it again. I use a comb and start at his legs/butt and if there's one matt there that won't come out I cut it out...I will not hurt my babies for them. Last year in Nov Teddy had to be shaved due to matting my mistake, didn't know/realize that his hair under neith matts so bad...Now I that I learned I lift the hair up and part it and take it by sections all around his little body! No more matting! It just takes time and I do mean time...These babys are U're babies to left to tend to theirselves! Tiffanie is bad about digging, I think it's habit, she has NO dry skin, No flakes, NO fleas... I think she does it to bug me! LOL! She is a daddys girl and not mommies! If he says Tif stop she does I tell her and she keeps @ it...Oh well got to love them all! Hope some of this will help U. Hugs, Lee and babies |

| I spent hours dematting Pepper at the beginning, he had terrible matt-prone baby coat. And still he ended up shaved down at his first groom. Just recently his hair got a little longer and was starting to get tangled again, instead of putting clothes on him, I cranked up the heat LOL . Well, he has a nice puppy cut now and can wear clothes more often , and combing is a breeze. BUT there was time I cried over those matts, feeling like the worst Yorkie mommy ever, and those pictures of dogs with coats sweeping the floor were not helping.....

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Brushing Daily And Use Cowboy Magic The cowboy magic is great. I brush Baby Blessing daily and usually again in the evening while viewing tv, also I never leave the top knot up over night. We haven't had any problem with matting from wearing clothes, and does she ever love wearing them. Her sweaters and coats are her favorites |
