| I need correct dose of Cerenia As fast as someone can possibly give it to me? The only reason why I'm so confused is it says 1/4 tablet, but it's four tablets only. so I don't know if they mean 1 tablet, or 1/4 of that tablet. I don't want her to take the other medication- which is very strong- unless she has to, or I can't get an answer. I DID call the after hour line, which is an ER, and the woman was trying to get me to make her be seen. I said, NO! She's SICK because we didn't want to take her to a convention, and our plan to put her in her favorite daycare backfired- too much commotion. why on god's green earth would I get her sicker and even more scared dragging her to an ER, when this is normal? GAH!!!! she's 5.6 pounds, at least she was on Monday. it's 16 mg of Cerenia. She's not feeling too well, she's in the army man pose and laying there under the fan. She threw up her food the second it went in, so it tells me she just got too overheated and stressed. She was hungry until she ate. I don't usually break down and give her one, but she needs it this time. Any one? |

https://www.drugs.com/vet/cerenia-tablets.html https://www.zoetisus.com/products/pa...age_insert.pdf At 0.9 mg/lb, that would be 5 mg, which is a little more than 1/4 of one 16 mg pill.

| You will need a pill spliter for this. Make sure you write DOG on the spliter so you don't confuse it with one that you may use for humans.

| ER vets aren't allowed to give really any diagnoses or instruction over the phone because they can get sued.

| Tibbe takes 1/2 of a scored 16 mg. Cerenia tablet. He weighs 7 - 7.2 lbs. and is 9 years old.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | The *minimum* dose for nausea is .9mg/pound. So for your bottle, it'd be correct to cut each pill into 4 pieces.

She's got herself into a little pickle now. I'm just glad vet is open, but it's another hour and a half. I forced some nutri-cal down her, though she refused that-was able to get down some. Thankfully peanut butter is something she IS eating, so I'm off to give her her 2nd dose of it- I gave the last one to her yesterday at 1pm, so I'm trying to figure out when to give her the next dose.

Today, I finally had just had enough. Her gums were pretty pale this morning, and I'd just had it. I said, I'm calling. He said make sure Dr C***** is seeing her this time. I said of COURSE honey, but I'm not so certain she's available! I called the vet that was rec'd to me by a yorkie expert, and I'm not going to do a name or anything. They saw her for months, and I prefer them. Yeah, that was the right thing. Husband had to listen to them understand what she was dx'd with, tell him that a specialist was needed for her allergy dx and not just a blood pull (he knew that, as we're seeing one soon- July?- for the full allergy panel) That Addisons was very definitely a possibility... and then, she took her back for an x-ray, which is what I wanted last week. they said see you in 20 minutes. It was almost an hour, and they actually DO not only know something that they state she was most likely born with and given what they found, it was concerning that it could have been an infection in it that caused the maggots, but that there were no signs that they did, thank god. The fact is that she was sent home with this, and if they WERE, they'd be eating her flesh- right now. Her Colon has TWO ulcers. They said they were bulging/pockets. They found that out on the Xray-which is why they checked and found the bulges/pockets I'd give a cheesy grin, but it's not because I think this is funny. The vet even had the other vet check. The colon is longer than it should be, so they immediately checked. Also, they are positive she has either IBD or Addisons, and will look at her history from the other vet and get right on this. Surgery is needed at some point for her colon, and they question getting a colonoscopy, and they'd really love for the problem to settle a bit- no swelling- and that they apologize but a steroid shot would make it more likely for an infection to hide, so given the vermin, this isn't a good option. That she was hit up with proheart 6 and it wasn't necessary. That we'll see and maybe give Drontal again. I'm upset mostly because I knew that they were the right choice, and her other doc is a GOOD doctor, and I'm VERY glad that they did her spay- she is excellent with surgery. I LOVE her doctor, but, we don't see her often, and this has been going on LONG enough. I have a sweet little girl going through this #E$#$ and it could have been taken care of. She was grinning from ear to ear after her visit, and ate a great meal and is happily watching youtube.

| With some of the symptoms you are describing I would be worried about pancreatitis which can be life threatening. Feeding peanut butter which is high in fat would make the condition worse. Pancreatitis is also very painful. Pancreatitis in Dogs - Symptoms, Treatment & Prevention - American Kennel Club |

| She very definitely doesn't have pancreatitis. The bout she just got finished with is Normal. People like Taylor and Matese are aware of what is happening, so I don't watch my words so carefully. we get her "nut nut" butter at a special dog store that provides all of her treats. Also, the vet approved of what we were doing, particularly since she hadn't eaten ANYTHING in over 10 hours. I did get some of the nutri-cal down her, but I had to smear it on Ms. Stubborn's nose to do so. She literally has Gastroenteritis, and it's a mild bout this time. She has them so frequently from stress that we have both the Flagyl and the cirenia, and a stomach coating medication along with an even stronger anti-nausea med on top of all of that. They are always in the fridge and her med kit. It's why Addisons is a real concern- even over the IBD. Besides, her blood test came back with her liver, pancreas, etc normal. |
