We've just been on opposite ends of the spectrum as far as vets. HER vet has yet to pin down an actual DX-the one our trainer told us to take her to, which my husband was eager to do immediately, and has gotten his way.

Today, I finally had just had enough. Her gums were pretty pale this morning, and I'd just had it. I said, I'm calling. He said make sure Dr C***** is seeing her this time. I said of COURSE honey, but I'm not so certain she's available! I called the vet that was rec'd to me by a yorkie expert, and I'm not going to do a name or anything. They saw her for months, and I prefer them. Yeah, that was the right thing.

Husband had to listen to them understand what she was dx'd with, tell him that a specialist was needed for her allergy dx and not just a blood pull (he knew that, as we're seeing one soon- July?- for the full allergy panel) That Addisons was very definitely a possibility... and then, she took her back for an x-ray, which is what I wanted last week. they said see you in 20 minutes. It was almost an hour, and they actually DO not only know something that they state she was most likely born with and given what they found, it was concerning that it could have been an infection in it that caused the maggots, but that there were no signs that they did, thank god. The fact is that she was sent home with this, and if they WERE, they'd be eating her flesh- right now.

Her Colon has TWO ulcers. They said they were bulging/pockets. They found that out on the Xray-which is why they checked and found the bulges/pockets I'd give a cheesy grin, but it's not because I think this is funny. The vet even had the other vet check. The colon is longer than it should be, so they immediately checked. Also, they are positive she has either IBD or Addisons, and will look at her history from the other vet and get right on this. Surgery is needed at some point for her colon, and they question getting a colonoscopy, and they'd really love for the problem to settle a bit- no swelling- and that they apologize but a steroid shot would make it more likely for an infection to hide, so given the vermin, this isn't a good option. That she was hit up with proheart 6 and it wasn't necessary. That we'll see and maybe give Drontal again.

I'm upset mostly because I knew that they were the right choice, and her other doc is a GOOD doctor, and I'm VERY glad that they did her spay- she is excellent with surgery. I LOVE her doctor, but, we don't see her often, and this has been going on LONG enough. I have a sweet little girl going through this #E$#$ and it could have been taken care of.

She was grinning from ear to ear after her visit, and ate a great meal and is happily watching youtube.
I'm glad you got some answers and are on the path to fix things. With her allergies it really could be IBD. Please keep us updated.
