| Something wrong with Teddy's eye This morning I woke up and noticed something funny around Teddy's eye. I was already taking Teddy to daycare and so I went ahead and scheduled an appt for the doctor to look at Teddy's eye while he was at daycare (the vet and the daycare are in the same building). Well...the receptionist forgot to schedule the appointment and the vet is gone for the day, and Teddy's eye looks worse. I now have to wait until TOMORROW to get his eye checked out...I'm so upset! I attached a picture of Teddy's eye can anyone please look at it and let me know if something similar has happened to their dog's eye? http://i56.tinypic.com/2624j1u.png

| Emergency vet. When in doubt with the eye, esp. if it's getting progressive worse, it shouldn't wait. What may not be a big deal tonight could be a really big deal tomorrow. I'm sure you'll have a few ERs in your area.

| Thank goodness he is being seen today. You can never be too careful with eyes. I will be checking back to see what the vet says. |

| Okay, guys I'm back from the vet. The good news: he checked for any corneal abrasions and there were none (thank God) The semi bad news: he has some type of blepharitis? I had taken Teddy to the vet about a month ago because he was getting an excessive amount of mucuous around his eyes (more than the usual morning eye boogies) and the doctor prescribed some eye drops because he thought Teddy might have some bacterial infection. I gave Teddy drops for 10 days and the excessive boogies went away...but after that they were slowly coming back and every morning I wiped more and more until today when one eye appeared red (as you guys know). The vet thinks that he just needs stronger medication to treat the "blepharitis" and he prescribed Opthalmic ointment. I really hope this clears it because considering that this is a reoccurring problem I'm getting concerned...

| Glad you got him in! Hopefully this new ointment will clear this up! Be sure to use it just as prescribed and as long as it is prescribed. (I am sure you know this) Hope little Teddy is better soon!

| Have you thought about making an appointment to see an opthamologist? At least then you could be sure the problem was known that he was getting the right treatment. I messed around in the beginning with a vet doing trial and error medications for Maddie's eye issues. One trip to the optho and we knew EXACTLY what the problem was and how to treat it. |
