I don't think he could legally be a man as I believe it requires removal of the female reproductive organs before someone can legally change their sex. I really think the whole situation is really odd...I do think that child will be teased as it gets older. Its peers will know...this story has been big in the news. I just think it's really really strange.. I know we don't all have the same moral or religious beliefs...I don't think it's about being "close-minded"..I believe its what we feel is right and wrong

Still confused. He is legally a man as they are legally married. But they inseminated him at home, so definately a woman.

well gosh I don't know One of my friends did a lot of reserach on sex changes before and told me all about it a few years ago and I thought she told me that they had to go to counceling for so long, start taking hormones, and have reproductive organs removed before they could legally change

The tragedy of this affair is that news is being made of a woman who voluntarily had a double mastectomy and then got herself pregnant as opposed to a breast cancer survivor who is moving on with her life, getting pregnant, etc.

For this reason, news and talk show programs that are making this into something it isn't should be taken to task!!!

If you don't agree with same-sex marriage, that's your personal opinion and I'll respect it. But please, don't feel the need to say things like "ew" and "nasty." I hear enough of that nonsense in my high school whenever the word "gay" is mentioned.

This is my opinion, of course. But I really wish society was more open minded. If anything will screw up the kid, its the fact that society is not tolerant of ANYONE who is "different."

OMG Megan I read that whole series...very sad. Read the other books..I think it was a total of three books.

I personally don't have a problem with a child being born from them. I do have a problem with the way that the whole thing is being sensationalized. I do think that the child may have some problems with their peers but hopefully they do their best, raise the child with love and teach him/her to be compassionate and accepting of those that are different. I feel that it's our job as parents to teach our children to be accepting and to also love people because of their differences and not see those difference as something bad.
