| Rsvp Means Nothing! Geesh.... what is wrong with people these days? Ok if you receive an invite to a party thats says "Please RSVP" - do you think that the hostess might want ya to RSVP?? Maybe she has to plan for food and drink.... while every good hostess should expect 1/2 of who she invited but plan for everyone, its still irriating as HECK. What happened to following the etiquette rules.... UGH ok Just had to get all that out...

| aww, I'm sorry! It is rather hard to plan for a party when you have no idea how many you're going to have to serve!! |

| Yea no one listens to the rsvp anymore, it makes me so mad. when i planned my wedding almost 2 years ago no one rsvpd so we had no idea and ended up with so much extra food and we could have saved alot of money had we not known alot of the people werent gonna show up. I had some people who did rsvp and said they were coming and then didnt. I even went threw and self addressed envelopes with stamps with the rsvp cards in the invites and most people didnt bother to mail them back. for crying out loud i spent tons of money on stamps too. Im also having this problem now with my daughter bday party this weekend nothing near as big as a wedding but we are planning to feed everyone and it would be nice to know who all was coming. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I HEAR that! I was planning both a couples' shower and a bachelorette party last year so had that experience multiple times. One person actually said to me: "Well you should know I'd be there." Uh-huh. Sorry. My crystal ball just broke. |

| Most people just don't follow the basic ettiquette rules now a days. Who writes thank you notes now??? I still do. I went to a wedding once and the bride e-mailed me a thanks! I couldn't believe it. (gee, hope no one here has done that.... foot in mouth ) I don't know if parents aren't teaching them or if people are too lazy to put a reply in the mail or what. It can be VERY frustrating. Wouldn't it be fun to have a RSVP party and then when people show up that didn't RSVP, tell them - Sorry, but we weren't expecting you, and turn them away. I would never do it, but my twisted mind thinks of things like that. |

| When my cousin and I were planning my sister's bridal shower, most people decided not to RSVP. I can't remember if everyone waited til a few days after the RSVP deadline to respond or my cousin ended up calling them. Like it really takes so long to pick up a phone, dial a number and say, "Yes, I will" or "No, I won't".

| Girl, I had the same issue with wedding invites. How about that? We had to take time out of our busy planning schedule to call them and ask if they plan on attending. Then we had 6 people that RSVP that no showed! That's even worst when you've paid for the entire meal. |

| I love to host parties and NO ONE ever RSVP's! It is very upsetting. Most parties (no matter what they are for), you need to know who is coming, how many, etc. I ALWAYS RSVP to everything...even if it is a message on my phone regarding a cookout or something.......I always call to let them know that we will be there and what is needed for us to bring, etc. AND Thank You notes, are a given.....I am a card freak to begin w/, but my daughter and I have always sent thank you notes and pictures!! (hee, hee - I love pictures too). Come on people!!! (hee, hee)

| Cut them from your list I have had that problem on occasion. If someone does that twice, they are off my list. Also my mother said never send a "regrets only" because there is always a chance the invite could get lost. I also put a date by which they should respond. Every now and then I have this sneaky idea of saying the party is at a restaurant. When people RSVP I tell them it's at my house- same day and time. For those clods who don't reply, let them show up at the restaurant which of course will have no notion of what's going on. If these "no respond" guests" call to complain, I could just say "Sorry dear, since I did not hear, I assumed you were not coming and didn't have time to call." Another pet peeve is those "save the date" cards for weddings and other events. I told my daughter Hell would freeze over before I wasted money on that. I said simply tell the people you really want to be there when you are getting married, and send the invitations 6 weeks in advance. That'll keep expenses down. Maybe if these people get a taste of their own rudeness they will shape up. |

It amazes me how many people either don't RSVP or do and don't show up. We do the High Tea at the Conrad in Indy. This year , we had some personal shoppers from Nordstrom come in and do a fashion/makeup show. Well, there were several people who did't show up. The Conrad charged me the fee for ALL 25 attendees rather they ate or not. There were about five who didn't show and said they were. Well, at $32 a pop , I had to ask for the money from the ladies. Also, as is typical at spas , they require a cc for deposit and 48 hrs notice. My coordinator said that if people miss their appointments that I would be chraged. I told her that if she did not recieve cc's from everyone to cancel their appointments. I cannot pay for people who do not show up. I let the attendees know that non-secured appointments would be cancelled at the 48 hr mark. Needlessto say, everyone called with their numbers. It's awful to have to do that , but unfortunately necessary at this point. We have such a good time at these events and Nordy's always gives me lots of samples for my guest gift bags. I hope I didn't ramble on , just wanted to vent I guess. I guess I really do need my Hot Stone Massage tomorrow at Spa Day! Erika

I LOVE it! We intentionally left the venue off of my sisters baby shower invites. We will let people know a week before where the event is. We are having it in the banquet room of a restaurant. This will prevent people from just stopping in. I have also made up placecards for every one who RSVP'd by the deadline. Those who waited won't get a "good seat".

| My sister had a birthday party for one of her children and had RSVP with a date on the invitation. Two people called the day of the party and said they would be there. She had gift bags and had to go out and get more bags and stuffing to put in them. I think some people wait until the day of the event to make sure nothing else is going on - like you don't have a life and can accommodate them at the last minute!!
