It is soooo frustrating. I plan events for the girls ( friends and new acquantances). The events are : High Tea and tea cup exchange, Little Black Dress Party & martini glass exchange and a Spa Day - which is tomorrow.
It amazes me how many people either don't RSVP or do and don't show up.
We do the High Tea at the Conrad in Indy. This year , we had some personal shoppers from Nordstrom come in and do a fashion/makeup show. Well, there were several people who did't show up. The Conrad charged me the fee for ALL 25 attendees rather they ate or not. There were about five who didn't show and said they were. Well, at $32 a pop , I had to ask for the money from the ladies.
Also, as is typical at spas , they require a cc for deposit and 48 hrs notice. My coordinator said that if people miss their appointments that I would be chraged. I told her that if she did not recieve cc's from everyone to cancel their appointments. I cannot pay for people who do not show up. I let the attendees know that non-secured appointments would be cancelled at the 48 hr mark. Needlessto say, everyone called with their numbers.
It's awful to have to do that , but unfortunately necessary at this point.
We have such a good time at these events and Nordy's always gives me lots of samples for my guest gift bags.
I hope I didn't ramble on , just wanted to vent I guess.
I guess I really do need my Hot Stone Massage tomorrow at Spa Day!
