| Anyone from Seattle? I'm going to Seattle next weekend and would like to know which places I can visit in the Downtown area. Never been there before so any places you can recommend would be helpful.

| In the downtown area, you can visit the Pike Place Market (home of the flying fish), the Seattle Art Museum, the Space Needle is fairly close to downtown, and the waterfront pier area (with the Ye Olde Curiousity Shop). There's also some good shopping downtown too, with major stores like the flagship Nordstrom store, Macy's, and an assortment of boutiques and high end fashion shops. The duck tour is also supposed to be pretty good: http://www.ridetheducksofseattle.com Have fun! |

| The music experience is close to the space needle also. We had a great time there looking at all the old rock and roll mementos.

| salmon, salmon, salmon and more salmon. There is a great place in the market on the same side as the fish market that makes a great chowder in a bread bowl. There are also great oysters in some resturants. Oh, and don't forget to take a peek at the first Starbucks (bare boobs ) right across from the market.

| There is also a resturant at the top of the space needle (great view on a clear day but a little pricey ). Make sure you take clothes that you can layer as it is sometimes chilly.

| For food, I don't think the Space Needle is worth the money. If you want to avoid some tourist traps and experience the real Seattle, My top picks are McCormick's on 4th and Columbia and my utmost favorite is Palisade at the Elliott Bay Marina. They also have a grill/cafe there for more casual dining. By far the best food that Seattle has to offer. A fun trip is to go out to West Seattle and visit Alkai Beach and eat at Salty's Fish n Chips. Another fun haunt is downtown Edmonds, north of Seattle. If you are bringing your Yorkie, University Village in the University district is dog friendly. If you really want to experience Seattle, walk on board one of the Ferry's going from Seattle to Bainbridge Island. Take the Ferry round trip. The views are beautiful! The Seattle Art Museum is a great place to visit. I believe the Bodies exhibit is still here on Pike street. And don't forget Pioneer Square and the underground tour, and all of the great shops in that area. Lastly, you must visit the Bank of America tower, formerly the Columbia Tower at 4th and Columbia. The top floor restaurant has the best ladies room. You won't believe the views! Have fun while you are here!

| Thanks Gracie2006, Unfortunately, I'm not going to take Jerome or Chiki with me. Husband is going on business and I'm going with him but since he has to work I will have to entertained myself and find places to go to. I definetely want to see the first Starbucks since I love that coffee. I have a list of the places now between fasteddie, you and margaritaville have given enough info. Someone told me about a train that goes from Seattle to Vancouver in one day I think that would be fun too, do you know what train is that? is it a one day trip or longer? Thanks

| Definitely get seafood in Seattle, there's tons of it around. Bluwater Bistro is good, there's a few of them around town. Palisade's is a nice place with an amazing view, as is Salty's on Alki. For steak, the Metropolitan Grill (downtown) and El Gaucho (downtown) are really good. If you like Chinese food, there's many Chinese restaurants in the Chinatown (International District), which is just a few minutes south of downtown. Seafood Garden and Honey Court are good Chinese restaurants. There's also many sushi places around Seattle, like I Love Sushi and Shiro's. Now you're making me hungry! |
