For food, I don't think the Space Needle is worth the money. If you want to avoid some tourist traps and experience the real Seattle, My top picks are McCormick's on 4th and Columbia and my utmost favorite is Palisade at the Elliott Bay Marina. They also have a grill/cafe there for more casual dining. By far the best food that Seattle has to offer.
A fun trip is to go out to West Seattle and visit Alkai Beach and eat at Salty's Fish n Chips. Another fun haunt is downtown Edmonds, north of Seattle. If you are bringing your Yorkie, University Village in the University district is dog friendly.
If you really want to experience Seattle, walk on board one of the Ferry's going from Seattle to Bainbridge Island. Take the Ferry round trip. The views are beautiful!
The Seattle Art Museum is a great place to visit. I believe the Bodies exhibit is still here on Pike street. And don't forget Pioneer Square and the underground tour, and all of the great shops in that area.
Lastly, you must visit the Bank of America tower, formerly the Columbia Tower at 4th and Columbia. The top floor restaurant has the best ladies room. You won't believe the views!
Have fun while you are here!
